Thanks to Elizabeth once again. I'm learning so much when I edit these videos now 😅 Sorry for using some photos more than once or for keeping them on screen for longer than usual. As I'm sure you can imagine, photos (I'm allowed to use) are quite limited for some of these tracks and races!
@@JontysCorner With you involved, I would suggest the 24 h of the Nürburgring as a perfect occasion. You probably know it, but for Sean: It's really a giant fair. That all being said, I would argue the Nürburgring is worth a visit most time of the year.
Nurburgring (north and south loop), Bremgarten and Circuit de Charade are some of my personal favorites :) But the Belgian Circuit Nivelles-Baulers is pretty cool too, same with the French Circuit Rouen Les Essarts, or the Österreichring (the original layout of the current RedBull Ring)… soooo many good old tracks, too many to list, good thing a lot are recreated in various sims, so we can still enjoy them today from the safety of our home.
Nivelles outside Brussels, Belgium was incredible. Incredibly boring that is. It was designed to be the opposite of the death-trap tracks of the past and with safety in mind. Unfortunately they made it too safe and all the drivers found it bland and akin to a test-track. It was completely flat and worst of all it actually was planned to have a more challenging section but since the funds to build the track itself ran out they finished the eastward facing section in a hurry and left it with two straights interlinked with a sharp turn. The plan was to expand the track later to include the more challenging section but nothing ever came of this since the track went out or business before the end of the 70's. It was (then) situated in the middle of nowhere and the grandstands were also too far away from the track which meant people couldn't see the cars close enough either (especially important before direct broadcast and giant projection screens around the track). After the circuit closed down it was abandoned but local street racers used to drive their cars and motorcycles around the track in illegal races. To prevent this parts of the track were later torn up. Too safe, too bland and too remote. That was Nivelles-Baulers.
no hate man but im not here for another news channel, im here for sean and his banter. if this is permiment not interested anymore. same as i dont watch wtf1

A Sean / Chainbear / Jonty road trip to the Nurburgring would be a great investment Mr Planet F1 Boss man.
I have nothing to add 😝
@@F1Word You are NOT picking the travel music.

@@alfiealf9707 "Danger Zone" sounds appropriate.
Really enjoying these new racing history videos. Very well researched!!
Thank you :)

Super nice vid!
Thank you :)
Another FANTASTIC video. You guys are the best.
Thanks, Nick! 😁
This felt like a real DPTJ crossover episode. Great little Evergreen clip, as Sean would say.

It’s not a news channel and I’m definitely still here!
Preach brother. She’s boring to listen to. Point blank.
What a pair of miseries! She's great. Just don't watch videos if you don't like the subject. Or are you misogynists too?
