Just came from the X-gene vid. I'm loving your reactions man especially to XG! I cannot wait for more! Even the rappers are fantastic vocalists, as shown in WWY, these girls are truly out of this world!
OMG... Mijoo... she's actually much more composed here... haha... miss her craziness back in the later Lovelyz variety show days, and then her days with Jessie and others on variety shows. I think her dancing abilities aren't fully displayed with the typical girl group choreo... (yes, she was being dramatically over the top on Running Man and Knowing Bros, but if she wasn't good enough to begin with, she couldn't have executed those crazy dances that well with comedic effects) And I think she sings live fairly well also. She's a gem. Yoo-camp sure snatched her up quick (good). :-)

The four rappers in certain highlight their humility more expressed. Cocona for sure came off so grounded yet intimidate and yes, vulnerable but I seen the other three also be able to hint towards their rapping tones. I really like the four of them and they greatly take on, shape, and give life to their raps in every song/creations of theirs (as far as I haven seen dating to leaked and shared by their producer trainee stuff and the post-debut work)

I didn’t enjoy their attempt at Amapiano on “Smart”, nobody does it better or with more authenticity than South Africans. They haven’t attempted to showcase having respect for Amapiano culture, dances or music. When Ed Sheeran did Afrobeats, he didn’t want to be labelled a “culture vulture” orr opportunist, so he went to Ghana, he collaborated with Nigerian artists, helped them crossover, he used the local language in his songs. He showed he was an ally and guest in their musical heritage, and not just there to profit. There’s no comparison between Ed and the girls in this respect. [I don’t think you know but, Afrobeats and Amapiano are 2 different genres, Afrobeats is from Western Africa, Amapiano originates thousands of miles away from there in South Africa. Across Africa there even debates of “Afrobeats vs Amapiano”.] 🇿🇦
