- A tornado hit a Hampton Inn in northern Oklahoma as a supercell moved across the region on Monday, May 6, footage shows.
The tornado killed at least one person and caused severe damage to the Hampton Inn building and other structures in the area.
The National Weather Service forecasted severe storms with hail and damaging winds in the area on Wednesday, with the possibility of a tornado as well.

The storms that run through Oklahoma and southwest Missouri are some scary bad-ass events
Most people think warnings are overblown, or they never be hit by one. Many have been killed with this sort of thinking they can't see very far in a city with buildings blocking the view. Suddenly they look up see a massive wedge tornado right on them they are swept away.

Much of Tornado Alley lacks storm shelters.
Sadly that's true due to numerous reasons..

It's a miracle with all these wooden structured 3 to 4 story motels all over. There aren't more casualties due to tornadoes and high winds.
That's a tornado ,they last about 5 seconds and it over. But the damage they can do in five seconds.
They can last much longer than that. The average is several minutes, but sometimes more than an hour.
In the US we can get the half mile variety-but they are usually 300-500 yards wide moving 10-50 mph. The largest was 2.6 miles wide the El Reno tornado. One can see how a direct strike would be longer than 5 seconds.
Watch an intercept video where a specially fitted vehicle is intentionally driven directly into the path of an average tornado and anchored to the ground.

When it gets really windy auto sliding doors usually default to remain open to avoid them being shattered
When there's a tornado around, you shouldn't bother with doors or windows.
Thee doors would explode open from thee pressure that a tornado does a hen it's over top of you. They are deafening and then afterwards you feel like your ears are.clogged for awhile. When u hear the siren u don't ask questions you run for cover
