    Barty’s game is the closest to Federer’s in WTA. The serve, the slice, the forehand, the movement and shot selections... they even have that “watch the ball a split second longer at contact ” similarity. The demeanor they carry themselves on and off the court are also something we can all learn from. Great analysis. 👍

    Great analysis of a great athlete. Nice to see/hear that she does not scream like a banshee every time she hits the ball! She does exhale strongly on every shot, but does not bellow like a wounded buffalo. Makes watching so much more enjoyable. Long may she reign.

    Its also a good point to mention shes one of the less and less women who hit with a straight arm on the WTA side. The gap between her elbow and her torso his wide especially for a WTA forehand.

    Great vid, always impressed w/ Ash’s strokes. What blows me away when I watch her is her balance.

    I play with a similar grip, and jokingly call it the Middle Eastern grip. Never heard of the term Soft Semi-western, but that makes sense. Great analysis!

    Great analysis! Super happy for her win. She is a great champion, and even more importantly, a great human being. It was so nice to see Evonne Goolagong at the trophy presentation, connecting past with the present. Also. a shout out to Danielle Collins for a great tournament. She has become a force to be reckoned with in women’s tennis.

      Couldn't agree more! All great champions and for different reasons unbelievable role models for girls and women.

    Awesome breakdown. I don’t know why I never noticed the direct correlation between the racquet drop and the knee bend (I know, it was a total forehead thump moment for me). Really gives me direction to better sync my swing.
    You are a tennis goddess!

    Thanks for the analysis. You don’t get this level of detail during the tennis coverage and many commentators wouldn’t be able to do it.

    Also interesting how high Ash finishes on some of her forehand follow throughs. An indicator of the impressive upward component on her swing path. Would like to see some slow-mo analysis on this.

      Exactly. I am also wondering when and how she chose which finishes to use.

      I think it is to generate more top spin

    • @MeikeBabelTennis
      @MeikeBabelTennis  2 роки тому +2

      It's to create more spin and/or height. Also depends on how she catches the incoming ball.

    Maybe do a few tactics of Barty’s next? I’m curious how she managed to “tame” the big hitters such as Collins, Keys…. She didn’t give them much to work with, did she? 🙏

    Hi Meike! So happy for her really! The second set was just amazing to watch :)
    Btw, her coach mentioned in the post match press conference that Ash will not win the US Open because of the less weight balls, its the same ball used since 80s I believe. I think he is just playing mind games to lessen the expectation or pressure on Ash to win the US Open. Serena won multiple US Open GS. i think Barty too. Your thoughts on this light balls?

    • @MeikeBabelTennis
      @MeikeBabelTennis  2 роки тому +1

      I actually didn't know that until I read it. If they did that in my time, I didn't know about it either :-) Whatever his reasons are, I say that Ash can win anywhere. If she can win on grass, hard and clay she can win on hard with lighter balls!

    im fed up with the knockers of emma raducanu so will you help me, how many women in the top 50 has won a single major, i think she has done brilliantly so far and can see thats she is working bloody hard with her new trainer, but people are still calling her a one slam wonder and will soon disappear from the rankings, thank you

    • @bournejason66
      @bournejason66 2 роки тому +5

      Several top players never won a slam because of the big three and Serena. Others have won just one slam at young age, such as Iga, Sofia, Sloan...etc. it’s a super competitive sport. Even if Emma ends up only won one slam in her career, it’s still a super high achievement that only a few people on the planet has achieved.

      @@bournejason66 Agree with you. The level is super high in top 50. There are a lot of good players with good chances of winning a slam. And the best of three sets makes it harder to manage a handicap.

      @Albert Head, Its very competitive from top 100.. say now Osaka is 80+ in rankings, kenin 90+, brady 110+ these are highly competitive players with x number of years experience.. anyone can beat anyone really.. as for grand slams only few have GS titles. Pliskova a veteran is in top 5 but dont have Grand Slam title yet. Only time will tell when. As for Emma's situation she has her own trajectory, unique one. There are trolls maybe because of online betting for sure or simply jealous/bitter. Bet on her after 2 or 3 years of experience. We just have to wait and see for now.. again only time will tell :)

    How much money did you put on Ash to win? :) As an Aussie living in the US, I'm super proud of her and love her game. I haven't kept up with pro tennis, so this was the first time I'd heard of Danielle. She's talented and delightful too! Lovely cat, by the way =^.^= Mach's gut, Meike!
