My dad retired from Ford in '00. Then you could buy a fully loaded F150 Lariat for 22k, or a fully loaded eddy bauer Expedition for 27k. He had them all, every 2 years while employed. Nowadays, those same new trucks cost 80k fully loaded. Tell me, what about this makes sense after only 2 decades? Corp greed has currently strangled the lifeblood out of your average customers.

We need vacation time we can call our own, to use as the individual sees fit, Not en masse vacations at Fords convenience. More personal time and at least 2 family days per year not per contract. Under current rules we are property not employees. Although this is a good deal it is not fully restorative without a pension Thank you Mr Fain.

@@lisajones543 You may want to start speaking the truth yourself. The amount you put into a retirement plan has nothing to do with your yearly income. Just working 10 hours overtime a week would probably put you over $80K a year. If you don't work "a minimum" of 10 hours OT then that's your choice. You probably are not concerned with income enough to work. So may start speaking the truth yourself before telling others to. Misleading the public doesn't work well for you either.

The banker makes good offers while the million dollars case is still in play, but eventually you open the wrong case and the offer goes way down. A smidge of this guy’s grit is admirable. But the “us versus them” rhetoric is straight out of 1920 and a time of virtually no global commerce. The businesses use labor and tools and strategies to remain viable in a competitive environment, and workers benefit. Every car the Big 3 make could be made by a non-union foreign automaker. It’s a privilege not a right to a job that’s attainable right out of high school and pays $80K a year with great benefits. Instead of getting behind the hand that feeds, Fain’s creating a divisive, hateful kind of landscape that’s naive in 2023 … and that’s not going to end well for the UAW long-term.
