Im Alpen Wald

Wald bedeckt einen beträchtlichen Teil der Alpen. Er ist ein Bergmischwald und reicht hinauf bis an die Baumgrenze. Von Natur finden sich im Bergwald der Alpen vor allem drei Baumarten: Fichten, Tannen und Buchen; zu kleineren Teilen Lärchen, Ahornbäume und Kiefern bzw. in höheren Lagen Zirben.

Forest covers a significant part of the Alps. It is a mixed mountain forest and reaches up to the tree line. In the mountain forests of the Alps, three main types of trees are naturally found: spruces, firs and beeches; to a lesser extent larch, maple trees and pines or in higher areas stone pine.
