  • I make a book nook miniature from scratch (well..almost 😆). If I could build a reading nook, this is what it would look like, but in miniature! What is your dream place of escape like?
    Items used in this project:
*Self healing cutting mat - amzn.to/3j9M1tO
    *Craft/modelling knife - amzn.to/3WaHPrS
    *Tweezers - amzn.to/3Yxn1gq, amzn.to/3YqWTU9
    *Precision scissors - amzn.to/3W9ON0k, amzn.to/3Fl21QU
    *Craft awl - amzn.to/3Ps84I3
    *Glue applicator - amzn.to/3FoHN95
    *Mod Podge (matte) - amzn.to/3VauBKJ
*Pebeo Vitrail glass paints - amzn.to/3rggXNy
(don’t confuse the Vitrail paints with the Vitrea glass paints. The packaging are very similar, but Vitrail needs to be baked in the oven to cure properly)
*Arteza acrylic paints (normal colours) - amzn.to/3VSkFGR
*Arteza acrylic paints (iridescent colours) - amzn.to/3FpvObt
    *Jo Sonja’s Clear Glaze Medium - amzn.to/3uSuZ5P
    *Wood staining gels - amzn.to/3WhdfN8, amzn.to/3FLMafS
    *Acrylic paint paper - amzn.to/3rggRWc
    *Stirring sticks - amzn.to/3RG2wNi

What are the most challenging and/or funnest parts of your projects? For me:
    * The most challenging part is getting the structure and scaling right. There’s so much to learn and improve on. Also the design of the pieces are quite simple (no furniture embellishments yet) and I’m still using some pre-cut bits and pieces from other kits for things I can’t cut by hand - but I hope to slowly accumulate more experience and one day make more of these intricate pieces myself!
    * The funnest part is making all the tiny little items and having it all come together in the end

Thank you! 🥰 yeh ahaha, this was my first time where almost the whole thing was done from scratch. Doing one takes so long compared to working from a kit, but I hope to make many many more of my own designs!

omgosh as soon as i saw this in my feed i ran to grab my snacks so i could sit and watch it all the way through 🤩 i love this build !! It's so amazing you designed it from scratch and combined cool parts of other kits like the window and the lamp. the storage staircase is so cute with the little bookshelves and soft and hardcover books 😍 so happy to see the little magical touches like the whales in the magical blue and purple sky haha it feels like your signature colour scheme! hardest part of projects for me is definitely the tedious parts.. watching you cut all the strips for the floor wall and roof reminded me i'm totally procrastinating on doing the same parts of the dollhouse kit i'm currently working on HAHA. funnest part is always trying new techniques and seeing if it turns out the way i imagined! i loved watching you do the tiffany lamp and felted rug and pillow and they came out soooo pretty 💖 also random but the part where you opened the candy coloured wool was soooo satisfying HAHA

lol oh thank you! And for taking the time so comment on all the little details. Pink is actually my favourite colour, but I love using blue and purple ~ they are my magic colours xD omg the roof and the walls, the trick is to film a tiny bit for the video, and do the tedious bits while rewatching a favourite tv show in the background. Trying new techniques and experimenting is what keeps each project fresh and fun! You’re the ASMR and cosy aesthetic mood queen, so glad you liked the package opening bit ahaha. What will you be making next? I keep thinking forest themed items like a house for forest animals, or maybe making forest themed stamps? 🤩

@@azukibeanhobbies i love pink too!! you're right though, blue and purple are totally magical. i've never tried working on something with a show on in the background HAHA maybe it will make it less tedious. i'm working on a dollhouse kit now and trying to customise it (v inspired by you haha) but it's taking soooo long. i do want it to have cottage in a forest type of vibes!! how bout you, have you planned out your next project already?

Wow, that Tiffany lamp is SO cute!!!! The amount of time it must've taken to get that gold outline just right brings a tear to my eye as a crafter. Your capabilities with tiny-stained-glass-items should absolutely be explored further: I'd LOVE a tiny book nook with a really pretty stained glass window. I've seen some tutorials on pinterest on making faux-stained glass with some glue, acrylic and puffy paint and would LOVE to see you explore that in a future build!! Amazing job as always Azuki!!!

Thank you so much!! And that’s a wonderful idea!!! 🤩 I’ve been toying with the idea of putting resin on plastic sheets for windows. Your suggestion just opened up a whole new bunch of possibilities!
What have you been up to lately? I saw the beginning of your last video and stopped before the spoiler bit haha. I was pretty stressed with trying to finish this video, and I wanted to sit down properly and watch the whole thing when I had a bit more time (which I do now before starting the next project 😆).
But instead, I ended up procrastinating on non-craft videos 😭. I need to go catch up on a big backlog of arts and crafts videos before the next project takes over hahaha. I will see you soon on your channel!

@@azukibeanhobbies LMAO! It's ok, UA-cam has curated shorts on my feed that are so addicting I think my time sitting on the toilet doing nothing has increased by like 800%, so I get your struggle. I saw your comment and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Lately I have been finally up to some non-Zelda crafts (Pokemon) since I only have 28ish days before the game comes out. This is brilliant! I especially like the lamp and think the plants behind the window is a great idea. Did you sketch it all out ahead of time? or just figure it out as you worked?

    • @azukibeanhobbies
      @azukibeanhobbies  Рік тому +1

Thank you! I did a really rough sketch at first, but there were no plants outside the window, and the lights were a rather non-descript blob xD At first, I wanted to make a little tree but it was too big to fit, so I ended up using the mini model landscaping moss.
Do you remember the time when you accidentally put resin on the windows of your greenhouse? I was really tempted to do that to the windows at first haha. I will probably do that in a future project where the view isn’t as important.
After watching a bit of modelling and diorama videos, I’m very slowly incorporating a little of the items and techniques. I’m going to try make some stone walls using foam or clay :)

What kind of wood are you using to create furnitures?
