Ok i was able to get the cab flushed with the body but it still leaves a lil gap in there. And in the process broke off one of the tabs on the smokestack. It's just not a good design and definitely should of been die cast. Just gotta push it really good. Lol 😅😅
you should've check the transformation video online first, it requires ginrai to lock on the legs before. Because you didn't lock on the legs and you pushed in hard with the legs, causing the nubs to break
Mine arrived today and it's pretty schmick, IMHO. I can see that problems said people have been having, but I didn't reai have those. I definitely can see the issue with the smokestacks though, and I'm actively avoiding it. And the panel on his left leg in combined mode is also not sticking shut, just like yours in the video. I think it's a really nice piece. It feels great in the hand, and it's fun to manipulate and pose. Transformation is well thought out and accessible. In other words, it's not a nightmare of flimsy joints, low tolerances and clearances and scratching paint. 3Ps struggle with this often, and Takara too, with particular MPs that went a bit overboard. It also looks really nice in person. I don't think it looks as nice in video. There's a flattening effect that doesn't do it justice. And yes, the cab is under scale, but the combined mode is around the height of Ultra Magnus, so it works well. Interestingly, MP Ultra Magnus alludes to the same gimmick, but maybe the reason it could stay in scale was that it didn't actually do the gimmick. The cab was just a collapsible box. I can see that if MP 60 was in scale, the Super Ginrai body would have had to have been much larger structurally, either in bulk, like the Fans Hobby, or height, like the KFC. But the MPG despite having a problematic scale is definitely a lovely piece that compacts a lot of very nice materials and logical and intuitive engineering into a smaller package. And in combined mode, he looks fantastic on the shelf. I certainly don't get the over hatred for it that I'm seeing. I don't think that's fair in the slightest.
I dont mind more simple transformations in MP. I really like the older days of the Hasui era. Simple and effective. The prices also matched that simplicity. Don't match now for sure. Great review as always!
Beginning facing same issue like that.. Need to adjust Ginrai leg for the right angle and carefull on smokestack.. Then placeback Ginrai into it. Make sure get same level depth..
Ehhhh it really doesn't affect the transformation. It's encased in the body so the legs sit straight up. Really don't need tge tabs to be honest. Hope you get a good one. Make sure the cab is pushed all the way down. Thanks!
Great review bro got mine a few days ago I’m loving him I watch transformation video so I had no issues with that was a huge fan of the original PM prime so I’m stoked
I didn't realize how popular this guy was. He's like 369$ in Canada so it's a definitive skip for me, and the whole stacks issues, for the price you paid it should be perfect. Awesome review!
Another great review. I've been looking for a good powermaster Optimus Prime. Unfortunately this one isn't it. For the price they are charging for it just isn't worth the price of admission. If your copy is a good example of this mold it just isn't worth it.
I completely agree with your review brother ,the head as far as the combined mode is terrible. It took me over an hour and a half just to get the cab right to sit down there without breaking something.I love my power master prime from G1 probably my favorite transformer toy of all time and I’m glad I got this one, but I won’t be picking up the Apex armor set for this one !
Yeah poor design on that part and the smokestacks. It's a good looking piece tho. But way overpriced for what it is imo. Thank you very much for watching this 👌 👏 😆 😀
I don't know if you ran into the same problem I did, but I found that my issue was that I was trying to line up the cab's knees and lower legs JUST SO to mimic the instructions. Which I was accomplishing, but what I didn't realize was that in the process the upper legs were being untabbed from under the cab. Once I fixed that, the cab went right in.
If anyone is wondering or anyone who has this product and you're having a hard time tab in the head to the cab it's because if you don't have the cap sitting perfectly you're not going to be able to tab the head in It has to sit perfectly
Yup I pinned a comment right on top explaining that. I finally got it in but it's still not a great design but it works fine now. Thanks for watching 👌 👀 🙂 🙏
Just a fyi, the mp60 is the toy color version of the cab and the stickers with mpg are for if you want to dress up the trailer in toy style. I used google translate on the box for the accessories, I want to say all the heads are just different toon style heads, maybe one toy style. I just got mine yesterday before work, gotta mess around with it more today! Great review though, always enjoy watching your videos!
Looks pretty spectacular... ly expensive. Yeah nothing triggers my Transformers childhood traumas quite like Powermaster Prime. Can never get enough instruments of destruction but what did you do to my Optimus!?
Just opened and put mine together, and man.....if it weren't Prime, I'd be selling. It's a pain in the ass getting the cab seated all the way in, both tabs on my smokestacks tore right off, the leg ratchets don't have enough teeth/spread too wide, the engine bots bounce out way too easily, even if you try to push the sides into the tabs, etc. I mean, I'm fine with it now that it's together and on my shelf, but.....easily the most disappointed I've been with a Takara MP. Ever. And I got both the MPG-09 and MP-60. IMO, even if the smokestacks were diecast, they'd still be problematic. The problem IMO is that the smokestacks move along with the legs when they're tabbed, and that just shears them off. And they're not even really needed! In fact, they sorta got in the way more than helped. And you're right, it feels like a premium CHUG more than an MP. Only - ONLY - reason I'm not mad is because I am indeed a big Prime fan.
Sorry to hear that man but yeah not a good choice for the smokestacks and head thing. Agree with what you said man. Thank you as always good sir for watching these.
MP60 Ginrai is the toy version (red eyes), MPG9 Super Ginrai is the anime version (blue eyes). The stickers are supposedly so you can have a full toy version if you got both figures and want to use the trailer, the red eyed Super head, and the all-blue hands with MP60 instead. (The Japanese G1 toy had blue hands that could retract via sliders instead of stationary red hands like Hasbro's Powermaster Optimus Prime; buuut, Hasbruh would turn around and just use the Japanese retool for the Commemorative Series reissue) "Ginrai" is the equivalent of Hi-Q, the robot body is just a lifeless Transtector (Chou-jin Masterforce continues from where The★Headmasters left off, despite trying to not seem like it) that only functions once the Headmaster or Godmaster is attached to it. Yeah, they got wild with the gimmicks. I don't know if the manuals for either MP60 or MPG9 show it in particular amongst the prototype history, but one prototype (whose design is on TF Wiki) was supposed to implement all three of the Master gimmicks at the time - Headmaster (a Roller type equivalent would've made the Super Mode's head), Targetmaster (a separate critter would've made the gun), AND Godmaster/Powermaster (the engine block guy we actually got). Aaaaaaaaaaaand once again, it seems Takara's rollin' with Hasbruh levels of dumb design decisions and bad QC. That should be inexcusably unacceptable for something that's supposed to be a high priced premium product for adult collectors. Oh!! How easy is it to get the truck cab separated from the trailer when coming out of the Super Mode? (Because to this day, I still say that the lock/release mechanism of MP24 Starsaber *SUCKS*, the release shouldn't have been so sloppily difficult!!) And $230 seems like a slight deal considering that the MSRP of ¥46200 puts it around $270...and it's still too high. Takara's really overestimating how much these things are worth.
Lol yeah it definitely has some issues. Looks great but just feels like a upscale chug figure to me. Which is fine but way to expensive for that. Thank you very much for watching and the information given. It was great! 😀
I think the top of the cab should sit completely flush with the shoulder line. It's hard to get the cab folded and locked in exactly without damaging the smakestack tabs.bYou may need to look at other videos like mangmotion or golden zhen. That may help the head sit better.
Ehhhh its down as far as it can go. I messed with it way to long. Lol it's just not a good design. I've seen alot more having the same issues. Even on reviews but thanks for watching and the info. 😀
You're core bot wasn't secured in all the way in supermode. It sits flush and allows the neck to snap in. You're not the only one to run into that challenge..but if you review the transformation again(maybe from takara) you'll see the way it seats. It has a lot to do with the leg position in brick mode.
Man i messed with it for along time and tried several different ways to get them legs correct. its still not a good design but ill try again. thanks for watching and the info.
@@DeluxeBaldwin I got mine flush and neck clipped in fairly good. I watched Choosen Prime's video..but I had to double check I had it in cab mode properly. Then slid it in slowly so the legs wouldn't move. I pushed down via the cab section like people have suggested to me, not the legs. The molding in the supermode cavity seems like it's fit to the T for the brick mode.
If you want to keep the little engine from popping out all the time, stick it in and then spread the legs slightly. That should help hopefully. And yes, the cab is a real bitch to get in there
Ahhhh ok yeah that does help. Lol didn't even think about doing that. Was so frustrated with getting the cab in. Thank you very much for watching and the information. 😀
I picked up MP 60 Ginrai. Wasnt too impressed with the trailer and the super mode. Seemed wonky to me and i own the original G1 powermaster prime. The cab alone is fine for me.
I like Power Baser still. He's a thick one lol. I really like the look of the KFC one tho. PB is more stylized to me. So just matters what your looking for. Thanks for watching this 👌 👏 😆 😀
you're not insert ginrai in enough. it needs to be flushed in order for the head to properly tabbed in. and you didn't lock the legs with the trailer pegs, making the smokestacks nubs easy to break
DONT get X-transbots version, save you money for better things. I've seen enough reviews of X-transbots version to see there's a pattern with its defects. Can't even move properly without falling apart in combined mode
What a POS. TT have truly outdone themselves. It's no small feat to make KFC look good, but these jokers have found a way. This is so bad, I don't think I'll even waste my money on a KO. Sorry for you got this, Big D, but I really appreciate the awesome review.

not a good sign for MPG line... with the train wreck that is Raiden (pun intended) and now this Powermaster Prime.
Lol 😆 I have to say this is alot better than the trainbots. Just some issues with him but he still looks great. Thanks for watching 👌 👀 🙂
@@DeluxeBaldwin Aye, tis a pleasure sir 👍👍
Mine just arrived today. I'm gonna hope mine doesn't have the problems you had.

I'm gonna use mine as Super Ginrai and Super God Ginrai (once God Bomber comes out) and get the KFC for Ginrai.
Nice review as always, cool figure but I have enough primes in my collection 👍
