I think it’s a regional thing. I’m in SW Florida. I know in the keys it’s Tarpon, permit and bonefish. Probably up north a little a flounder would be thrown in the mix.
Yeah it’s pretty variable and species can be substituted depending on what’s in your area. There are no Snook in the FL Panhandle because it gets too cold so their inshore slam is Red, Speck, and Flounder But in Central FL it can be either Red, Speck, Flounder, or Red, Speck, Snook. And in South FL it’s typically Red, Speck, Snook because Flounder just aren’t that common for whatever reason

I was fishing the top water on a 4000 and the soft plastic on a 3000 size reel.
