It's called nostalgia. Not lack of imagination. Times have changed and action shows are taken more seriously, with better writing and better special effects. It's nice to see those old concepts done the way they should have been.
I have been watching the Kight Rider show since it came out in the 1980's. I also watched the show in the early 1990's when it was a Red car, that show didn't pan out though. I hope this show does. Len Pottstown,PA. Age 40

Owning a 630 rwhp terminator myself, I can appreciate the KR as a b/a car. But I agree, for a state-of-the-art machine, they should have put the new ZR-1 (with make beleive digital gauges) up for the roll.
Just like Team Knight Rider was a tv series about ford vehicles, this will be a 2 hour ford mustang commercial. I like how this preview zooms in on the momo steering wheel. At least the original Knight Rider wasn't always about product placement. You never saw the pontiac logo cleary on KITT

The thing about the original KITT was that it was monolithic: retractible headlights and the black paint made it largely featureless, which drew your attention to the red scanner. The new one has too much extraneous detail.
one of the main points of knightrider was that kitt was unique and well hard to duplicate in real life with this version anyone with half decent credit and a average size down payment could own one the inside is basic no noticable high tech mods, just sticking a pulsating light on the car does not make it kitt
The only issue there is that GM hasn't fielded the F-body (Firebird-Trans Am/Camaro) since 2002, so there was no incentive for them to bid on the sponsorship. They could have pushed the GTO, but GM isn't importing them from Holden right now, and the new Camaro isn't due for six more months.
The car has so many features they didn't have time to finish the top of the steering wheel! So, three cheers for the new cylon-mobile! What cheesy 80's TV show will they remake next?
You need to walk in todays world. There are cars out now that has blue tooth and responds to voice commands(Acura for one). On the news the other day, they have a truck that drives itself. This is the future. The show itself, well, will probably suck sure enough. lol
I agree, I like it! new more muscel, there even bringing in the hoff for the 1st episode, I think it has possibility, just alot of people seem to not like change, but the same was said for Battlestar Galactica and look how well that was like, so wait and see

I'm a little dissapointed they went with the new Mustang. It does look cool but the original '83 Trans Am looked futuristic in the oringinal and I think it still looks that way today. I also think they should have used William Daniels voice again. Just doesn't sound the same.

Too expensive for the NBC production crew. Remember, a show like this requires several "hero" cars--the ones you see in close-up--and at least a dozen "gag" cars, which handle the stunts. For example, "The Dukes of Hazzard used two "hero" cars through most of the run, adding a third later, and at least 17 "gag" cars.
@SakaranAngel Yeah, they tried to give it some humour, but the creative board was too much into Viper to completely ignore the fact that they were proceeding the original series. Epic Fail. Didnt even make it up to season two. Too bad, this kitt was smokin, but the directors didnt live up to the required standards.
The new Kitt I'm sure will be a disappointment to old fans. Maybe something we will have to live with. The Mustang has presence but lacks the slick, elegant body of the old trans-am Kitt; it comes across as a large, heavyweight version, almost sounding like Karr with an arrogant tone in its voice! Still I'd say kids today would probably love it, but the old fans would think would could have been with a different choice of car more similar to the original. Any word of the series coming to the UK?

They will have atleast 5 of these cars on hand due to the crazy sh&^ they will be doing to tear them up. Probably bought V6's and added a shelby kit to them to hold down prices. Sort of a new Dukes of Hazzard - buy them cheap tear them up and keep one looking good.
to my surprise the Terminator clips from the pilot look pretty good, but this on the other had doesn't. Having K.I.T.T as a mustang also ruins it for me :(
This will definitely tarnish the legacy of the original Knight Rider. Take for example Team Knight Rider which flopped. The success of David Hasselhoff & the original Knight Rider cannot be matched. The original KITT had a 3 bar voice section. It was darker & mysterious. The new one here has HEADLIGHTS? WTF is up with that The new Knight Rider may be popular, but nothing will ever compare to the Original Knight Rider For the record I'm not gonna watch the new one at all
Yeah, sounds much like KARR. ...And where's KITT's spectacular dash? That thing is ALL stock, nothing custom about it like KITT's dash was. ...bet it can't Turbo Boost either. KITT was meant to be a Pontiac Trans Am, not a Mustang. I saw a local guy in the neighborhood driving a Mustang with those hood lights going back & forth like the one in the video. It's alright, but i prefer the original KITT more so.

And I guess the automotive industry paid some money so the new KITT would NOT have an alternative (non-fossil fuel) engine. I also hate the fact that the car isn't filled up with digital displays etc. just because most "pimp my ride" morons nowadays would say "that's not stylish".

They were originally gonna use a Viper, then Ford came along and paid millions of dollars just for them to use a Mustang....sucks! they shoulda used a Camero, just like the old Knight Rider. Hollywood jerks! Ruining my best childhood memories by defacing shows I grew up on!
