    Good to see you up here doing some biking for a change. Next time try and come up for longer and make a trip down to New Galloway Forest Park in Dumfries and Galloway. Gravel riding there is immense as well. 👌😁

    That used to be my back yard - I lived just below the Campsies. I enjoyed the video, but have to correct your pal - the WHW officially starts in Milngavie, not Glasgow.

    Nice. Even better when the weather is more decent ! Terrain looks ok for any bike depending how much jarring you want to endure.. Scotland pretty much take a few Years to get around it all in detail doing the tracks and lochs. !

    Good to see my home town of milngavie on UA-cam! For anyone else watching, might be an idea to stick to the west highland way when you reach the iron bridge over the Allander, rather than cycle up the wrong side of the dual carriageway as shown here LOL!

    I happen to live out next to Loch Lomond, if you get the chance to at some point definitely come visit us, it's beautiful all year round and we are all warm and welcoming folks 😁

    Great video :-D Loved the Navigation comment at the start. My brother from another mother knows five words that'll scare me... " I wonder where this goes" :-D Twice we've ended up in a Farmer's drive! One Bristol to Plymouth ride we got lost and went to Honiton, but it's best not to mention that ;-) Thank you for this video. I love Scotland

    Juliet. Thanks for this. Absolutely beautiful. It’s fantastic to see terrain like this. Absolutely alien-like compared to the desert 🌵 here in Arizona. You NEED to come ride here and experience the beautiful desert. 😃 Tons of rides to show ya!

    Great to see you up in Glasgow , I hope you enjoyed your stay , it’s a bit colder than where you live , well it is north , I’ve done the west highland way about 29 years ago, 2 days , the worst part is after aberfoyle , when you have to carry your bike for miles at Loch Lomond

    • @ArthurMac15
      @ArthurMac15 2 роки тому

      There's been some new trails put in out that way heading towards the loch, they've been updated on strava so it's not AS much carrying the bike lol 😆 just in case you wanna re do the trip lol

    We have so many 'offs' up here with roadies riding gravel bikes on terrain that is not exactly gravel. That said there are many up here that ride gravel from mtb too... and they are quick!! but the terrain can get really whacky quickly.... cannonadale lefty not a bad choice for things north of the border.. Makes ya smile though!

    Really neat to see you riding with Duncan and Rory, both very skilled riders. Scotland looks to be an absolutely stunning place to ride. Will you, perhaps, be looking to ride with Matt Jones in the future?

    Love your channel for years. I used to race MTBs, as amateur, in the 80’s…so I guess, “Old School”. I enjoy watching your rides, but for the life of me, I just don’’the understand how and why, a proper MTB would not be a better mount for off road cycling. It seems like you have to look for a very specific type of surface, that “officially” can be labeled “gravel”. Where as, if you had a proper MTB, you could ride “ANY” off road trail, and be able to survive mud, sand, rocks, about as well as is possible by a human powered bicycle. As an MTB owner, I just can’t imagine getting to a trail head, and turning around my MTB for home, so that I could ride back to the same trail head with a gravel bike…What am I missing? And now, you have “flat bar” gravel bikes…which have a smaller tire maximum width than a normal MTB range.
    So, I’m just suggesting…WAIT FOR IT…What if, you had two sets of wheels for your MTB:
    For example:
    Wheel Set #1 for “gravel” of 50mm tires or less, and you lock out the suspension on the front fork of your MTB (so you don’t get any softening of your ride, which is apparently a gravel biker preference (I guess)….AND,
    Wheel Set #2, for “MTB”, with up to “2.6 inch tires”, for MTB. Oh, and have the front fork feature, unlocked and active, to allow the suspension to soften the ride (as is the choice of MTB riders)!!! WOULD THIS BE BLASPHEMY? WOULD THIS LEAD TO SHAME AND EXPULSION FROM THE GRAVEL COMMUNITY???
