I had to deliver pizza at night to pay for my daytime babysitter so I could work another 50 hours a week on commission. I delivered a pizza to a Christian radio station to about 5 men, not one of them even gave me a dollar and they were so dismissive… that was 30 years ago… it still hurts my heart.
I thank you all for this interview! I am a Catholic priest age 84: it reminded me of those instances I interacted compassionately with some needy brothers and sisters and I can do better with God's grace and your sharing! Thanks again
I recently listened to a podcast of this interview. Last Sunday the sermon was on Jesus feeding the 5000. The boy was willing to give away his lunch, and Jesus responded with a miracle. Our preacher compared the giving in response to two letters asking for money. The letter that focused on one girl raised twice as much money as the letter that gave statistics on the need.
