Hey John, Glen here from Richmond. Hope you are doing well. I watched this video and although you had a gorgeous rod/reel combo, I think the setup that you were using for that creek was part of the reason for the slowness you experienced. Spinnerbaits are meant to cover a lot more water, more quickly, as it is an aggressive style of fishing. The fish you were going for were definitely not aggressive that day. Might have been because of the water level with the fish holding to structure more closely, unable to want to "chase" anything like a spinnerbait. I think if you fished a hellgrammite or a worm or some other form of soft plastic, slow moving bait, you might have scored better. We've had another stretch of warm days since you filmed part two. I'd get back in there with a soft plastic and see what you can do. Might have to go to a different rod/reel combo though. Go get'em buddy. They're in there. Go show'em John means business. :) Still a great video. That camera you're using is awesome.
Reminds me of the creeks I used to see in North Carolina as a boy. Beautiful! So many logs. Wow! Great casting John! I’d probably go to a Mepps 4 spinner. orange or chartreuse blade in a creek like that.
When I was younger I remember the next corner next then bend in the river always Waiting for that place to look better Just knowing There had to be A fish in there. It was just so fulfilling. nothing like Fishing, especially While wading. A nice little Creek
Love this type of small close quarters fishing. Got to be a little more stealthy that’s why I prefer to move upstream. Sure do miss this kind of fishing. Love your channel, God bless
I have been using Currado's for over 30 years and have tried other brands at a similar price point and nothing even comes close to their performance. It only got better with the "DC" series.
Although you had to cover some water and make the milk run that's not bad for a small creek fall trip. Like the new rod and reel combo. Action and power are good for lighter baits. Blessings brother
I think you'd do good with a 3 inch brown, pearl belly keitech with a red jighead. Sometimes I use red fingernail polish to paint them myself just keep them in their own pk. Think it's a easy shiner. I believe in them in almost any fishery or situation
Love hearing God’s word read to us! I tend to use noisy dark baits in muddy water for the most success. Like a black and blue chatterbait or a dark swim bait that rattles. I also use larger profile baits in muddy water just to increase the visibility and the chop in the water as it travels through. The 20.75” smallie in my profile picture was caught in brown water on a 6” dark bluegill colored trace by 6th sense just as an example in a TINY creek just like the one you were fishing in this video
You need to check out Hoffman boots in Idaho. Get you some caulk boots. They have a huge variety. They would really help get around on those logs in the creek
A spinnerbait ought to be a good lure for murky water. Down here, for redfish, the go-to lure is a gold spoon, like a Johnson Silver Minnow in gold...I know chartreuse is a good color for the mud.
Creek by my house like this. some of it is nice, shallow clear on days and a lot of it is silted in with dep in. the bottom is limestone but you can't see that most places as I'm closer to the river. I can drive out the road 5 miles and it's like a completely different creek. Small like this with a lot of deep holes. Full of fish as a state park lake over flow dumps into it. So the lake naturally stocks it. I can there and fish all the time though. I wouldn't eat any of the fish this close to the river either. I can fish the same creek 15 miles out the road and it's beautiful.
Hello Brother! Glad to see you out in the creek!! Can't get out myself to the places I normally do ( car break down 😅). Personally prefer crank reels to the bait casters. Love the experience and knowledge you relay, always learn great things!! Thanks again and God Bless 🙏
The curado reel is a great reel, your supposed be able to, cast without backslashing, that creek would have to be 20ft deep to kayak that, you had a lot of obstacles to walk over to get to those places, that's good you can do it, it was some good catches, what about candy creek ever fished it?🎣👍
201 references left handed HG is for high gear ratio. I own a few Shimano reels 👌🏾 What an interesting relationship between you and that creek. I definitely understand what you mean
I just found out that Great Lakes Finesse soft plastics are under the Pradco Brand. I'd love to see you try them out and give a review. I've bought a bit recently, but haven't had the chance to toss 'em yet. They look great!
Man I'd like to see you use a chatter baits instead of spinnerbaits in murky still water..more effective and far better hookup ratio/strike in my opinion.
I am thinking about getting two of them Curado K reels but I am waiting on the Metanuim DC to come out on the market but my luck if I buy two of them curado K they come out with them metanuim DC because I going to get the two Metanuim DC Xg and two of the Metanuim DC HG
I enjoy the videos man! Was wondering your top three bfs or ultra light bait casting reels. I don’t get to freshwater fish much saltwater is my game but seems like it would be fun to use light tackle for snook trout and reds..
I’m always amazed at your casting accuracy
Bro I’ve been watching your channel for years keep posting and the beetle spin is the juice from one creek fisherman to another 💪🏾
Every time I used my mom's open face I would Birdnest it she was not a happy camper either when I did it. I enjoy watching you fish 🐟.
Technique and practice

Nice bass by the logjam buddy!!! He HAMMERED it!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee
Love the word of God man good job
Much appreciate all the effort you put in to bring us a video, John! Just be extra careful crossing on those logs ! :-)
Amen brother! Love this channel!
I’m still trying to master my baitcaster. Maybe I’ll try some creek fishing with it. Our rivers and creeks are crazy low. Hope the drought ends soon.
❤lovè tò hear God's word
Love your videos. I fish small, out of the way creeks all the time. Love it!!!
Lol great little fish. It's nice being out there in the quiet with a little creek to yourself. God bless!
Love your insight about fishing you keep it simple got so many pointers from you made me a better fisherman.
I have a few Curado's and I have to say they're not a bad reel for the price. Very easy to cast in tight places.
I’ve loved my Curado for many many years

John, The backlash is just part of the learning process I whih I had a nickle for every one I have had and for all the trees I have cought:
I need to buy me a good set of waders. Looks like you found a few of them in there! Keep at it brother!

John, a slow day for you is a good day for me. That creek looks similar to Beaver Creek. It’s pretty hit and miss for me there.
I think you'd do good with a 3 inch brown, pearl belly keitech with a red jighead. Sometimes I use red fingernail polish to paint them myself just keep them in their own pk. Think it's a easy shiner. I believe in them in almost any fishery or situation
Great video nice fish looks hard place to fish with all trees and everything around
Definitely an interesting hole... I'd go for it,I think,if I knew there was a big un on the other side. Fish on and Go Dawgs.

There are bound to be some of those places around DFW. I just haven’t found them yet. Nicely done as always.
You need to check out Hoffman boots in Idaho. Get you some caulk boots. They have a huge variety. They would really help get around on those logs in the creek
Love all your stuff man. And I’m also very glad my own works and accomplishments aren’t what determine my salvation I’d be so screwed!
Putting the work in! Really appreciate your content.
Such a beautiful creek
You are the brave man , I would have skipped those spots.
Great video John…thanks for posting. 👍👍

Hey , next time take a black and blue jig and toss in all those lay downs...usually murky water creeks like that, the fish love a jig
I love fishing small creeks that are hard to get to. Means no pressure and big fish.

I knew a Miguel Rodriguez in Knoxville that I worked with at Chick fil a. Are you him? 😄
I have watched since your beginning You have become very skilled
Let me suggest Harden Creek in Wayne County, Tn. It is loaded with 2.5-3 pound smallmouth. Great fishing.

Check out the tight rope Spinnerbait. Imo the best compact spinner there is.
Nice day to catch some Bass thank for the video 🙏

Can someone tell me (or respond with the link) to the phone tether John uses for his fishing vest?
I can’t remember. I just looked them up on Amazon and found one
@@CreekFishingAdventures Sounds like a plan! Thanks!!

I always has the best luck with 4 inch cream natural or black
You need a Curado bfs. I love mine
A group of guys could clean the log jams up and make it a nice stream .
I enjoy the videos man! Was wondering your top three bfs or ultra light bait casting reels. I don’t get to freshwater fish much saltwater is my game but seems like it would be fun to use light tackle for snook trout and reds..
Nice fishing video.
John do you have any creek fishing adventure patches
My favorite reel!!!
Well done sir,
Amazing how many fallen trees are in that creek .
did anyone see the carp at 7:24
Great video, it’s hard to be a good bait, casting reel
If that had been me i would have lost all my lures not good enough at getting it where i want it
Hey, I want to plan a trip to wade fish. What creek would you recommend to fish.
In Tennessee
What kind of line are you using in the video?
14 lb sunline
Get a smaller casting rod. Or just try a bfs setup
Your are the best
Do you wear hip waders or just get in with sneakers and shorts?
i wear shorts until its too cold
200.00 for the reel...yeah way out of MY league nice fishing
Only if I could match fishing income with fishing expenses.😊
I'm not picking on you but it seems like a 6ft spinning combo would have been way better for the area you were fishing
I've always been a big spinner bait guy
So why not just stay with a spinning reel?
If it wasn't for God's Grace we would all be in hell. Another great video, John. Thanks for taking us along.
1 Peter 2:17😇
#659👍🏻🎣👀
Typical Ohio creek
That is some nasty unnaturally grey/brown water, no wonder you can't catch much in there.
