No plastic. No blow ups all over the yard. No Christmas sweaters that light up. It is very nice to see someone decorate classy and still festive for christmas
I accidentally poked a hole in the neighbor’s 15’ plastic blow-up Rudolph with flashing lights and sound that played 24/7. I apparently was wandering around my block in my pajamas, snow boots, and puffer jacket with a big nail in my pocket one December about 11 years ago! Just a vague unfortunate memory. 😳 So glad my mishap remains a mystery.

I live for this channel! The wreaths take my breath away! I lived in Alexandria. They have the most beautiful historical homes. It reminds me of the holiday historical tours in Madison, GA and Atlanta, GA. This is the best channel. I know the holiday smell of the cedar in your home is magnificent. Yes, diamond testing was done by edging the windows.

This was such fun. First of all, Brian clearly loves his home and knows his own style. Second of all, Brian has excellent taste and is an amazing decorator and his home proves it. Thirdly, I am so thankful to find out that I’m not the only weirdo that puts custom stationery with my farmhouse’s name on it in our guest bedroom. I could watch hours of Brian - he comes off as ver cheeky and charming!

Such an interesting, fun gentleman - love his passion for his home and Christmas! I especially appreciate how beautifully he designed his kitchen with the wood counters and brick floor, the incredible story of how he bought the house and could see its bones, the cedar bannister garland, the bedroom wallpaper, all the meaningful family things, the choice of Farrow and Ball paints, bamboo chairs at the antique dining table, the antique look ribbons, his auction habit…and I haven’t even finished the video yet. LOL - all my beds are the smaller French antique ones so I get the comment on not having queen - love the faux bamboo one!
May I never lose my enthusiasm and appreciation for those who decorate for the holidays. Pure delight!

I would not consider myself a maximalist, BUT there is not one corner of Bryan's amazing Alexandria home that does not delight! From the painting of Oatsie with the ever-present ball in her mouth, to the gallery walls full of sentimental pieces this man knows how to make a house a home. LOVE the original white color on the walls of the living room and the stationery for the guest room (pen and stamps included) - just one more special touch that is inimitably Bryan. Thank you!

What a stunning home and I love all of the collections and how well presented they are. So fun to see how someone else decorates for Christmas and some of the stories behind the sentimental pieces used. Plus a huge shout out to Oatsy for how well behaved she was throughout. I can't imagine either of my two terriers not bringing a tree down or something if ever filmed!

Great episode! I love getting a peek into these amazing homes as if I were a guest in their home and hear their stories and see their ideas and collections making their homes so special and unique. This is one of my favorite shows and I’m always excited for another episode. I’m also so glad they are not short. I like having longer episodes and longer tours and interviews. I watch and/or listen to 99% of UA-cam videos at 2x speed. Within 90 seconds I realized I had to watch this in normal speed and often had to rewind to reabsorb the beautiful rooms. What a beautiful home he’s created. Masterpiece!
I too thought they were going too fast! And seriously wonder what kind of camera they are using. I'm not a videographer by any stretch but there always seems to be something glitchy and hard to watch about their videos! Camera person please SLOW down.
@@lyric8529 I’m not quite sure what you are referring to. The video was fine at normal speed on my end. It’s just that I normally listen to most videos (news, commentaries by various folks, and even decorating videos, etc., at 2x speed), but his house was just so warm and lovely that I had to enjoy it at normal speed. Just so you know, you can also slow the video down far below the normal speed as well, but I have to turn the volume off as I can’t listen to the sound of slow videos.
Love everything, Brian, his dog, and his entire home. So much care goes into it all and it all looks just right in his home. Merry Christmas, Brian!

I also display my old Christmas cards year after year. They get pinned to a wide red ribbon that is hung vertically on the wall. He made me so happy when he pointed his cards out!

Ok, O…M….G…. This was THE MOST gorgeous home - what a tour with all those antiques- he is so incredibly talented I was just ohhhing and awwing the whole time. I also loved how beautifully organic and old fashioned he decorated for Christmas- didn’t miss a thing. Some people just ‘have it’ and Brian is one of those people!

YES to being obsessed with Christmas, books in every room, buying one-of-a-kind treasures even when broke, and doing whatever it takes (painting three times, redoing wallpaper, and even buying a whole new house!) to create a living space that feels just-right. Just so festive! Thank you for your joyous and considered style! I buy fresh pine in very long strands - as you would for the stair bannister - and use two or three boughs intertwined for more bulk and wrap it around the wood frame of my canopy bed and then inhale the pine fragrance throughout the season! I use a spray water bottle to mist it to keep the fragrance very fresh! Wonderful! Alternatively, a fresh pine wreath on the wall behind the bed also has great effect!

This was just what I needed to get in the spirit of the season! My husband and I are getting over (what I feel) is the worst cold in the world. As a result, I haven't been able to even start my Christmas decorating and it's made me more than a little depressed. We currently live overseas (Germany) and this is the time for Christmas markets and fests. Being sick has taken that joy away right now, and the clock is ticking. But I came upon your video while I drank my cup of tea. You brought me back into the season! Your home is a pure delight. We are "clutter" people. After 35 years of marriage (half of those living in Europe working for the government), we amassed quite a fun and quirky collection of vintage and antique, items (including ornaments). My husband declares that he's hard-pressed to actually see the wall behind all the treasures I have hanging. I spent 7 years working in Alexandria and my husband in DC. So, we are no strangers to that wonderful area. Brian thank you for sharing your lovely home with us and bringing back my spirit of Christmas! BTW, Schönbrunn Palace really does look like that, but it's about three times as wide as Mount Vernon. I guess there's only so far you can stretch a building size on a glass ornament. 😊

So many wonderful things. I love all the items. They are so beautiful and blend with various color schemes. I especially like the big Christmas tree with the 2000 lights. That is grand and worth all the effort. The other tree with the fruit reminded me of my dad (born 1920) telling stories about decorating the Christmas tree as a child with his siblings. They used pinecones, dried fruit and dried flowers to decorate it. I also liked the various wooden tables and cabinets. The paint colors were soft and easy on the eyes. I also liked wallpapers.
