I've wanted a portable Blu-ray player for a while.
Portable bluray players are still very pricey. If you happen to have the copies of bluray movies with the dvd copy I would recommend that option since it's such a small enough screen to not notice the difference too much.
Also that PS3 slim there also does a great blessing at playing DVDs
Good eye! Yes it does :)
I have a portable blu-ray player, it's built like a brick but it works like a charm, especially when the power goes out
Ooooo nice always wanted one
@@theretrouniverseI gave up on mine when it stopped turning on and got the bluray version which has hdmi
Some years ago I got a used portable DVD player. The disc spinning motor was bad in it, so I used its AV input instead, then suddenly the LCD's ribbon cable got loose in the connector (only red colour remained) and when I wanted to put the cable back the connector snapped right off of the motherboard, killing the whole thing. Sadly I didn't had that portable DVD player for too long. 😕
Oh jeez that's a bummer I wonder what happened to it. What was it's brand?
@@theretrouniverse I don't remember its brand, it ended up as "for parts only". I took the LCD off from its backlight assembly, gave it a 12V fluorescent tube driver circuit and I made it into a "light-up picture frame".
While I get the charm of those players. I use to rip DVDs and put the show/movie on my PSP digitally.
This way I had no extra weight of the DVDs itself. Not that a binder easily could fix this.
i always thought the missed the Mark on Portable DVD Players nasically, They were TV's AND Portable Monitors thet DIDN't TV or Monitor (well, some did like yours kinda does but its just Basic ... no HD, and the DVD part is probaly ony 480-720P or something... they should have put a Tuner Chip in there and we'd still be using them
Digital TV tuner would have been nice for sure! Yeah no HD but honestly for a 7 or 9 inch screen watching something in 1080p or higher doesn't do much. Screen is too small for it to matter all that much.
I have a couple of these Laying around, the Batteries still work good too, Now it's got me thinkin "Hey, Maybe I could Pop a RasPi in here and be able to Play NES (lol, Nintendo Ya Mooks - stop Hunting your FanBase Lol) or SEGA!" We played Sega in a Van in the early-mid 90's on a Van Portable CRT TV and it was HUGE FUN, because it was one of those things that was Literally Impossible less than a month prior. - I really never thought to try it on a Modern P-DVD Player until now,...
@ oooo look forward to hearing about it!
I’m sure it’s awesome having a portable DVD player, but I think I’m solid with my PSPs haha. Must be nice having a way bigger selection on DVD compared to UMD though.
PSP is great and I love UMD Movies, but DVD’s have a lot more to choose from when it comes to extra content. Not too mention TV shows to watch.
This dude legit justified his use of DVDs while showing a Pokémon movie. Just saying.
Trying my hardest to see if this is a diss or a high five. My Radar can't tell :)
@ it’s a bit of both😉
@@Cybertruck_Trips I'll take it!
i just use my external LG blueray drive for my laptop
That works!
To me I rip my DVDs and then use my gaming PC to fam remaster the rips
Is it region free?
I don't really have any pal dvd's or from another region to test sorry.
Plex.
yup!
