Inspection of the operation of the rudder propulsion system revealed a dominant #vibration of the #engine and support structure at a frequency of 20.05 Hz.
By analysing the orbit diagram, the vibration characteristics were checked. The linear shape of the orbit suggests the possibility of the system deforming in one direction. Such vibration characteristics occur at loose mountings, broken structures fastenings, a fractured structure and when the structure is operating at resonance frequency.
Analysis of the recorded data shows a pronounced vibration of the pedestal at 20.05 Hz, which are not transmitted to the stream channel structure. Vibrations at this frequency coincide with the engine speed.
