I love your videos. I studied advanced physics in 1974-75, so we didn't have fancy top quarks or higgs bosons to play with. We had to make do with charm and strangeness. A few years ago I got a serious head injury, and my hippocampus is disconnected, leading to mental exhaustion from simple tasks like sorting items into temporary categories (as in unpacking a suitcase: ~2,000 brain cells for you/about 20,000,000,000 for me). Seriously, I am triggered by Steven Universe. However, all the math and science we learned in college is in our forebrains, so all the connections are intact. Watching and following your videos is mentally relaxing. Working through them with pencil and paper doesn't leave me carpet crawling. Your videos are great. You show your work, unlike the professors who just UA-cam their dumbed-down lectures. The one thing I learned in physics is that you cannot describe QM or GR in words. You give us the math. Really appreciate what you're doing.
I watched Susskind's lessons and MIT ones about electroweak field symmetry breaking, read paper and wiki encyclopedias, and _this_ is the video that showed me _why_ E/M-field survived as massless, by demostrating that Q-charge is _the_ combination of weak isospin/weak hypercharge that makes a nilpotent matrix.
This is the best & concise explanation I found so far - thanks for that. I respect, that for one or a another reason you don't want to be seen directly or maybe its just intended as a joke, however this mask turns out for me to be really annoying over longer times spans especially trying to follow complex mathematics, so the video would highly benefit imho if you use the full screen available. ( I really have to overlay you and your welding mask with something else in order to be able to follow... no kidding)
Now I have a question -- what charges are transmitted by original, non-broken W1, W2, W3 and B bozons? Is the E/W charge two-dimensional? Once Higgs, W and B fields are untangled, what happens to "normal matter" -- quarks and fermions? Will they simply desintegrate into neutrinos (like in E/W star core), or new fermionic particles become possible?
It was an amazing video like all you have done in the past. Very helpful. I would like to suggest a video in the formation of the standard model lagrangian .Thank you very much.
I was hoping for a reveal of a broom and a coathanger under the mask at the end of the video xD Just had to get some looped footage from the workshop as per brand recognition and voiced over later. ︵ ( ͠° ͟ °)

I'm thrilled that my videos are helpful to you. Your life story is quite something.

Thank you very much for doing this video. Sure it was a lot of hard work. It was very helpful. Keep it up!

That is just something I tried once. It's surprisingly hard to know what will work on UA-cam without trying it.
You are amazing, I was expecting for this video
Great
this is the first reason people paid attention to Higgs .
and we have the helmet sam explain it to us.

You can't explain this stuff with a straight face. Fcking legend.
What are the books-pdf you used for this video?
thank you for nice sharing .Can you provide any books or articles for further reading ?
Is the final symmetry broken lagrangian still invariant under gauge transformations of A(mu) ?
This is a great resource, thank you!
I will unbind this in a moment, only to understand the mass
Please do you have pdf?
Seriously I've seen all your videos
