I really want to attend UT Austin and I'm just wondering like how many of each tier activities do you recommend because I am a sophomore in highschool and I have only done 2 tier 4 activities so far (member of marching band and NHS).
UT Austin is not an underrated college if one was to do more than a superficial google search. One would find that it’s relatively one of the more competitive schools compared to the other public Ivy Leagues.
It's ranked #36 on USNews, below UC Irvine, Boston College, University of Florida, and others. I'd say that's pretty underrated. Granted, anyone at Exxon (or any recruiter experienced in Texas) will recognize that UT is among the best, especially for STEM and business.
I'm not from the US so we have a different high school grading system.. How do they take in international students? We didn't have much choices for classes here and nor were the ones we took graded very well. So will it matter much if I scored less in high school here? (Not very less)
I'm in same position with you. In my case, i researched and decided to send my class ranking too cause our country's grading system makes my grades really bad. Maybe u better research for it.

I think they are comparing it to the Ivy Leagues but yes, I agree, it isn't underrated
Calm down. Don't get carried away. 🤣
