If anyone ever thought Francaix as a "lightweight," just look at the versatility of his compositions. He wrote for just about any combination of instruments. This concerto is superb! Only he would write a concerto for chitarra! Anyone who isn't a usual classical music lover should listen to Francaix's works. The sense of fun and, yet complexity is there in spades: always logical, always diverse! The attractiveness is there for everyone: from the non-classical music lover to the classical music "hound." Not only is his thematic development fun, but it never "overstays its welcome." Jean is gone now, but he will always be a unique and fascinating figure in the classical music world! Francaix' music is generally delightful, which causes people to dismiss it as "not serious." But most of it is really hard - the wind quintet, and the clarinet concerto is monstrously difficult.
Wunderschöne Interpretation dieses scheinbar leichtgewichtigen und wesentlich perfekt komponierten Konzerts mit schimmerndem Klang der Sologitarre und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Streichinstrumente. Der dritte Satz klingt besonders schön und auch bezaubernd. Der erfahrene Maestro dirigiert das ausgezeichnete Kammerorchester im veränderlichen Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Einfach wunderbar!
