The two types of POVs that seemed to get the worst of it due to piss poor drivers (the other guy that is) were, needless say, motorcycles and RVs in the Class C and Class A categories. For whatever reason, "the other guy" felt he or she could squeeze in between a moving RV and the vehicle ahead of said RV or beat a motorcycle in a (usually left hand) turn if they even bothered to look to see if ANYTHING was coming before making that left hand turn. But then some of those same dim bulbs though they could also squeeze in between fully loaded tractor trailer trucks and whatever was in front of said tractor trailer truck. Eric, glad you're okay. The RV can be fixed. Incase you didn't know, "there is no expectation of privacy in public". You don't need to let anyone know they're being filmed in a public space. Safe travels and God speed.
You might want to check the laws in California. They are very strict in recording others without their knowledge or approval. His signs all over his RV is a great safety feature. No excuse for not knowing they are being recorded.
@@duncan461 no one can prohibit filming in places without an expectation of privacy. There are special rules for filming children. Adults don't normally have such protections.
I got you by a few years and had my first serious accident about a year ago. An SUV driving to fast for the snowy / icy road conditions lost control and ended up shoving me into a guardrail. It took me a while to start feeling comfortable behind the wheel again. Slightly different situation as far as the other driver having insurance. Every time I thought the event was wrapped something else came up with doctor's appointments etc. Go slow when they come back with estimates, etc. Double check what they tell you as best as you can before you sign anything. Every larger city I've driven through has a number of aggressive and stoopid drivers. The quieter places aren't immune, but it tends to be a different kind of stupid. Glad you're all physically ok.
All the years you’ve been driving and this is the only time you got involved in an accident that required you to file a claim… that’s pretty impressive. Keep being a good driver out there dude!
LA is not like most of California. Give it up for CHP (California Highway Patrol) though, they got after him, and caught him. Now, I'm glad you are OK. Is there anyway to cut back over close to the central valley and bypass LA ? Once you are north of Oakland, then go back toward the coast. Ft Bragg California would be a good place to rest up for a day or 5. Lots of RV parks, skunk train, redwoods, etc. The road into it sucks though. Or Eureka- it is big enough to have rv repair. Stay safe.

dashcams & other security cameras on the RV is a wonderful thing to have for safety on and off the road ... This should be a standard on all RVs and should a 1500 watt Solar setup ( not the stupid 150 watt that they are putting on rvs )

Same here. California, New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts & New Jersey all states that lose out on my tourist dollars for the same reason.
this is just moronic he was in LA one of the country's biggest cities in an RV, this accident had zero to do with politics, I am just so sick of this political bullshit from everyone on both side day in and day out and BTW a huge portion of the state is RED. get a life and just be a fricken human
@@wildwestunlimited because there is population vs. geography. population wise CA is blue due to massive cities, you get out of those, San Diego, LA, and San Francisco the rest of the state is red. In both WA and Oregon all the blue is west of the cascades the other side of the mountains all red. Even rural areas on the west side are red. This kind of divide is true in ALL states. Texas - Austin is blue, Montana - Missoula is blue. 99% of the red/blue divide is manufactured and propaganda has caused people who were friends and neighbors to hate each other. Eric! I drive through that intersection every morning in my school bus. Grape and Railroad Canyon. It’s a notorious area for accidents. That’s why the cop was there so fast. Hi Eric! Doris here in Florida. Wow! What an idiot driver. So sorry this happened to you but as you said, kitties ok and you are ok and looks like the rig can be fixed and it is still drivable. Your good driving skills saved it from being even worse. This too shall pass!🤗🚍
You handled that whole thing better than most. I have had some a similar experience in California. With California being a border state there are probably thousands of drivers on the road with no license and no insurance. I wonder how the guy was able to finagle a 22 mustang without any legal documents.
Being a full-time RVER myself this made me sick to my stomach. I ache for you Eric, I was astonished how calm you were at first. Take time to get yourself together and to deal with the emotional stress you are experiencing I had a similar incident not as bad but a hit & run and what that does to your confidence isn’t something you get over immediately. Be safe and take care of yourself
Glad your ok and but expect a long delay on parts. My wife's 2021 GMC Equinox and was rear-ended on an exit ramp in Nov, 2021. The accident was similar to the driver was going to fast and swerve and caught the corner drive side bumper and end up in the concrete barrier and totaled their car. You guest it, uninsured driver and accident caught on the back-up camera. Car had only 3800 miles on it and the insurance co. would cover four weeks for rental. Car went to the insurance chosen body shop mid Dec and she just got it back two weeks ago. The car was suppose to be done mid Jan, but the delay in getting the OEM parts to get the work done took another two months. You living full time, I would suggest who ever does the work make sure they have the parts on hand before you take it to the shop. Peace and again glad you weren't hurt and the cats are all right.
I'm guessing that he's probably not here legally. And California will probably let him off with a slap on the wrist. Glad that you and the cats are alright.
I know EXACTLY what you mean> I used to drive a 16 ton truck. One day a car did to me exactly what happened to you. It was a Chervy Nova. I never saw the car until it was wrapped around the front end of my truck. The woman said she was driving right beside me for 1/4 of a mile and I wouldn't let her in so she decided to try and beat me through the intersection. The cop explained to her that it's not my responsibility to make sure she gets in the lane she wants to be in and if she's driving right beside me there's no way I cold possibly see her turn signal and probably couldn't even see her car. She got a ticket and was charged with the accident. Her car had the sheet metal ripped off the side of it because she hooked my bumper when she tried to cut me off. My truck had no damage at all. Not even scratched paint. Good luck, my friend.

Although we live right on the border with California, this is another prime example why we haven't crossed into Commifornia in over 20 yrs. Between the crime, politics, and their laws catering to felons, totally unsafe place to go to. Don't feel bad Eric, my son was on his way to work driving down the main drag, doing the 35 mph speed limit when he was rear ended by a drunk in a Jeep Wagoneer, doing over 100 mph. Everyone that saw it called 911 and volunteered to be witnesses. Turns out it was the drunk's 3rd DUI accident AND NO INSURANCE, NO DRIVER'S LICENSE, NO REGISTRATION, and he came from California. My son's car was totaled and he still suffers with pain from his injuries. Just so glad you are ok! I hope things get a lot better and your insurance will get your repairs completed CORRECTLY. Good Luck!
Eric. As an insurance agent, please please please call your agent and raise the coverage on your property damage coverage. $25 k is minimum. Especially with an rv that costs $100k.
I would find it helpful if you would do a "Dashcam for Dummies" video. The quality of the video and ability to quickly replay and share a clip with the officer was FANtAsTIC.
Currently watching this video. I'm glad you and your kitties are ok. Yes, a lot of people are awful drivers. I completely understand your frustration. However, not all Californians are assholes, hi, I'm a Californian. I am not an asshole. I care about others. If I had witnessed your accident, I would have stuck around, and if I was in a time crunch, I'd have provided my contact info. It's frustrating when someone bashes all based on an example of a few.
Californian here! Eric, please don't catagorise ALL Californians as bad drivers. And I'm not an asshole either. BTW, it doesn't look like you were in LA. If you were off the 15 I'm guessing high desert.
I’m a former Californian having recently moved to NM. There’s a racket in LA going on. Someone pulls out in front of you from another lane quickly and you rear end them. They then claim that you were at fault and collect on that. This actually happened to me while on an LA freeway but luckily I had quick reflexes and was able to brake in time. I live in a small town now and avoid driving in big cities if at all possible.
I’m a native Californian and it’s not just LA where the drivers are crazy. It’s the entire state. If I were you, I would find a better state to visit. Hope you get your motor home fixed soon.
Glad you and the cats are ok. I have full coverage and uninsured motorist coverad too. Don't forget to inspect your storage bins. That side jerk might have knocked things around.
My RV was hit and run while it was parked, two years ago. My RV spent two months at the RV dealer being repaired. The repair is perfect, you would never know anything happened to it. But it will be a long process.
Glad you and kitties are okay! You're obviously a good driver to be 40, and to not have ever filed a claim. I also hope you have "uninsured motorist" in your coverage. So smart to always to use the dash cam, we will be using ours too after seeing this video. I can always delete after each trip. You are my favorite you-tuber, you make me lol. Don't worry about the haters. Haters going to hate, they're just jealous. I'm sorry you had such a rough day.
OMG Eric! Hang in there. Watching the guy cut over made me pretty upset too. Your true fans who you never met and don't even know really are there for you just so you know.
This isn’t L.A., it’s Lake Elsinore and in Riverside County. He ends up at the Walmart parking lot off of Railroad Canyon. Kind of a stretch to call this Los Angeles.

That really sucks Eric. I would be devastated. Looks like a very expensive repair . Hope insurance comes through for you ……I’ll be watching for updates
I just came across your video at Disney California adventure and enjoyed seeing an out of stater have so much fun in my home parks. Then I was recommended this video on my feed. I’m sorry that your trip to California was marred by this moron, I truly am. I’m over 40 and have also never been in an accident. There’s no doubt that your frustration was pent up from those other close call videos. But from what I can tell, at least one, if it both of those close calls were NOT in California. I know frustration and nerves can get the best of you during the heat of the moment, but I hope you’re aware that the comments like “you guys are all idiots in California”, “that’s typical of Californians” and “typical idiot of Los Angeles” are only gonna bring out the hate from others who are just itching to make even worse stereotypical comments about “everybody in a specific state”. And all you have to do is read some of the comments from your viewers below to see that those are the results. I think most of your quarter million subs are mature enough to understand that this was out of frustration, and they’ve probably seen enough vids of you to know you’re not really that bigoted. Trust me, i am not proud of some of the laws that this state has in place, but stooping to the same low level as this criminal that swiped you (cause THAT’S what he is) is just gonna generate more stereotypical hatred. And that also not the way to go, bud. I hope everything goes well with getting this big guy fixed up. Hope this incident hasn't marred you from ever coming back to Disney & Cali adventure.

"Tony" makes me ashamed of being a native Californian. I once had a "Tony" in a box truck make an aggressive merge from my right on Interstate 405 north of I-10 and nearly took out the right front of my new GMC pickup. Thankfully I had a dashcam and there was no contact. The worse that happened was that I posted it on my You Tube channel (Caught On Dashcam-Episode 3). I'm glad that you and the kitties are okay. I'm glad you are safe. We have been in hir & run accident before with the other driver. He also had no insurance & had the audacity to say "you can't get blood out of a turnip." How do people get away with things like this? One time we changed insurance companies & were at not one minute without insurance. We got a letter from the state saying turn our tags in for no insurance!
Wow! You did so good at handling that!! And you also convinced my husband to go get a dash cam today!!! I’m sorry this happened to you and really glad you and the kitties are okay. So sorry this happened to you Eric, but I'm glad to see you and the kitties are safe. You'll have a bunch of inconvenience.... But it sure makes me want to get a dash cam. Hang in there bud, take some time off and recover mentally before getting back on the road.
I was born and raised in CA, and this does not surprise me at all. Pretty common when it is a hit and run in CA, there is no insurance, no drivers license, no registration, and dare I say it, no documents either. Now that I no longer live there, and have no desire to either, the only reason we go there is for Disney, Magic Mountain, Knott's, Universal, and to see old high school friends from back in the day. Other than that, I want nothing to do with CA. All my old stomping grounds in LA from my younger years, are now crime ridden slums... In fact, my old childhood home which was in a pretty nice neighborhood back in the day, now has bars on the windows and doors.
As someone who grew up in Southern California and is 61 now, everything you said about California and Los Angeles is 100% true…what once was a bit of a paradise growing up, has devolved into a nasty hellhole with unfriendly people and rampant crime. You were lucky that the motorcycle officer was there and was helpful to you. I can’t wait to get out of here…the Left always brings this kind of misery to anything they touch.
Eric, I am a big fan of your channel and will continue to be. But I believe it's unfair to make a negative blanket statement about the California residents considering the population is almost 40M people.
Welcome to life on the road, 30+years on the road have seen that dozens of times and have had it happen to me 3 separate times. Could have been a lot worse, 2years ago car ran a stop sign in front of my 18 wheeler. Spun his car and flipped it over, he got a broken leg arm and a concussion. Thank God he lived, so get over it get used to it or go home, that's your choices. That's all there is and that's all you can do.
Ya know, Eric, I am shaking too, just watching the accident! Nine citations…figures. (I was born and raised here; LA area, now in Orange County). I am truly VERY sorry this happened to you. I honestly can’t BELIEVE there wasn’t ONE person that would stay and be a witness. That’s insanity. You were on I-15…what area of LA. county were you in? That, unfortunately, may have been the problem. The MAIN concern is that you, Tara and Opie are alright. Your rig can be fixed and think about it…..the damage could have been a lot worse than it was. We stay out of LA traffic whenever possible. Too many crazies out there. I’m really sorry, too, that this had to happen in LA just when it was becoming “palatable” for you! I, like I said, was born and raised there, and can’t wait to leave California. It’s NOT the nice State it used to be…..gee, I wonder why?! 🤔🥸🧐🤔🥸🧐🤬
Accidents are always nerve racking. Your RV is still driveable, everyone is Ok. The damage could have been a lot worse, especially with those new tires. You're very smart to have all those cameras everywhere. I have a CRV and see people running red lights, cutting me off, and doing incredibly stupid stuff. I think many drivers do NOT have licenses, they steal cars, car jacking, and etc. You will get this resolved, then get out of CA! Be safe, hug those kitties very tightly!
So very sorry to know about this horrible incident - all we can say "Thank GOD, you and the kitties are physically unhurt and the dash cams caught all the images as solid evidence usable by the insurance co." You must know Eric that more & more people every day are getting angrier, more impatient & it's so much faster for most to lash out in violence. These people have CALLOUSED hearts. This guy sped off - but you could be hurt by him in broad daylight & in full view of the public - who may not come to your aid. It's not just LA or Detroit or Chicago - it's all over the world. We don't have a dash cam but as older folks, we don't travel far from homebase. We realize that there's a lot more anger from the violent young towards older people. It's so natural to be shaken up - so don't be concerned about appearances. That's why we say, "happy & safe travels". We understand your predicament. Glad Miss Tara and Master Opie are not injured @ all by any objects from the top. Thumbs up.
Glad you are the kitties are safe. We had a similar accident last fall when a semi truck sideswiped us on the freeway. Luckily we weren't physically injured, but he smashed the driver's side and the insurance company totaled the car. It was also luck that it happened near an exit where there was a grassy area for us to pull onto and no other vehicles were involved. I see people driving illegally every time I go out and it's a good thing I'm a defensive driver and try to keep aware of things around me.
Please don't blame California for your accident....This could have happened anywhere in the country....You drive your home around it's a fact of life....Thank God your safe.
Sorry to see this, I'm afraid it's going to take a while to fix this damage. We don't go to California much anymore, to many problems, to many to list. Haha! Hard to beat the weather though. Good luck and safe travels!
So sorry Eric.Your assessment of California drivers is correct. (I don't plan to EVER take my RV into California!) The bigger question I have, is how can "Tony" afford a brand new Cobra, with fraudulent plates, and no insurance? Apparently California doesn't require vehicle insurance?
That would be Gavin Gruesum and his party and responsible for all this bs. But of course Nanny PeLoSi's nephew. THEE leading crIme faMilY of CoMmiEfoRniA.
I hate to upset you anymore than you already are, but I have an RV that was hit by something in a windstorm here in Colorado that had 100 mph winds. Whatever hit it left two big gouges in the side of it. It was parked in my son’s driveway at the time. Anyway, I also have full coverage on the RV so we took it in for repairs. The guy told us that he had no idea how long it would take to get the part in because of all the supply problems they had with parts. This was in January. We are still waiting.
You said in the beginning of this video you can't see what the person is doing but you have cameras all around the rv and the mustang was far out in front of you to see almost the whole car. Why didn't you apply your brakes as soon as he was coming over?
He did apply brakes but he can’t see a car dart like that, could you see the guy had no room to merge, crossed a solid line? A regular car could not of avoided hitting him.

Not that it matters, that is not LA. That is Lake Elsinore in Riverside county. They are about one hour or 70 miles apart. The 15 does not go through LA County.

Stay safe.

Driving a brand new car with no insurance and a suspended license. Its amazing what people will get away with. At least you and the kitties are OK. I don't know how crazy the LA drivers are but you need to checkout these drivers down here in El Salvador. Geeez. Hang in there Eric!
dashcams & other security cameras on the RV is a wonderful thing to have for safety on and off the road ... This should be a standard on all RVs and should a 1500 watt Solar setup ( not the stupid 150 watt that they are putting on rvs )
I'll never RV to California. The fact that I'd immediately be breaking the law with my firearms is just the first reason. You mentioned a lot of the others. Hopefully they can do the repairs fast so you're only a day or two in a hotel, if you can find a hotel that will let you have the kids with you.

@@wildwestunlimited because there is population vs. geography. population wise CA is blue due to massive cities, you get out of those, San Diego, LA, and San Francisco the rest of the state is red. The fact you don't know something so basic about all of the western states not just California really proves my point. Meanwhile, the government does what is profitable for the big companies who buy them into office on both sides and screw the people.
Eric! I drive through that intersection every morning in my school bus. Grape and Railroad Canyon. It’s a notorious area for accidents. That’s why the cop was there so fast. They often hang out there and write tickets for Red light runners. So sorry you had to experience that. You handled it well. I see that crap everyday there. So frustrating!

Since it had an incorrect license plate belonging to another vehicle it's probably stolen.
This vehicle could have been stolen, no insurance , no license, think about it. The police probably wouldn't give out that info.
Probably a drug dealer!
Being a full-time RVER myself this made me sick to my stomach. I ache for you Eric, I was astonished how calm you were at first. Take time to get yourself together and to deal with the emotional stress you are experiencing
I had a similar incident not as bad but a hit & run and what that does to your confidence isn’t something you get over immediately.
Calif will most likely fix the jerks stolen car and issue him legal license plates. 😾
I wonder if he was illegal as well? It’s very common for drivers in Mexico to be uninsured as well.
Glad you and the cats are ok! People really suck these days!!! Keep pushing forward man!💯💯💯
I know EXACTLY what you mean> I used to drive a 16 ton truck.

Good Luck!
glad you are okay Eric, hope that guy is in a jail cell.

Probably isn’t , it’s California, and more importantly, LA.
Eric. As an insurance agent, please please please call your agent and raise the coverage on your property damage coverage. $25 k is minimum. Especially with an rv that costs $100k.
Most states require you to carry uninsured/underinsured coverage. They should start using that coverage prior to using your collision coverage

Especially with part shortages now! Might be up to a year.

You and I are of the same opinion because I have the same issues with this stinking state as well.
I’m glad you and kitties are safe and without harm. Keep us posted. It is scary.

Which dash cam? Which insurance company?
I think people don't want to get involved because of gangs, they're afraid of retaliation. Glad you and the kitties are OK.
Glad you all are OK. Sorry to hear about this happening.
Sorry to see this, I'm afraid it's going to take a while to fix this damage. We don't go to California much anymore, to many problems, to many to list. Haha! Hard to beat the weather though. Good luck and safe travels!
Glad you're okay! How did you get the amazing angle at :13 -- did another driver give you that?
@@jackies1597 What do you mean he can't see?..He has cameras all around the RV Can't you see out his front windshield the mustang in plain view, almost the whole car length in his lane..
