@@eccremocarpusscaber5159 As someone who works in comedy clubs every weekend (before lockdown) that's totally untrue. TV follows ratings and doesn't reflect what's in the clubs. After lockdown go out and see what's fun.
She certainly was. Her name is felicity montagu. She’s appeared in so many films and television programmes. ( Bridget jones s diary) and lots of Netflix shows. 👍
@@alwilfrid It's not canned laughter. It's a real live audience watching the show and their laughter being taped. Pre-recorded sketches like this were done on location and then played into the studio during the recording of the show.
Just like University! There was a time when only the most intellectual people went to University (As my Late Mother said- someone who was privately educated too)
BRIONY not so only the “ most “ who could afford it got to university, there were lots of kids far superior intellectually but never got the chance because of lack of finances !
She wasn't an inverted snob. She laughed at the ways of every 'class'. Being from the north can give a suggestion of working classness compared to the south but she went to a Grammar school and a good university, Birmingham. Her ear for the ways of people kind of makes her like an 'every person's Alan Bennett'. There was a depth to her work, particularly in the mini-plays her shows would have.
Victoria's school was a direct grant grammar school during the time she was educated there. That meant that many pupils had their school fees paid for by local authorities. Direct grant schools only ceased to exist in 1976 , by which time Victoria would long have been an Old Girl.
'The Oswald Mosley prize for public speaking' LMFAO :-)
Very drole
i have used the term tediosity ever since i saw this way back when.
“Otherwise it’d be hard to be served in shops” 🤣🤣🤣
Hilarious, biting satire at its best. Brilliant Victoria!

"Boring brochet aux champignons"
"Oh tediosity!"
I say that all the time in a buffet!
I was literally in one of these "About Britain" documentaries back in the 80s 🤣
Oh my, a rather young Lynn (Alan Partridge's PA)
"There are all sorts of girls here - even coloured girls! Although they tend to be Princesses..."
Dear God, please let people remember Wood as political as she was. Because she did it with a small p the press seem to think she had no opinions.

Agreed - brilliant lady - I saw her live and it was a night to remember!!! Such a loss.
2:50-3:00 LMFAO! And it's Miss Courtney from Mind Your Language.
That’s Perpetua from Bridget Jones Diary!
the one with the short brown hair is alan partridge's P.A. lynne.
And she overacts too
The actress at the end was the smitten long-suffering personal assistant to Alan Patridge, if I'm not much mistaken.

Haha! Oh fantastic! I love the class warfare!
One thing about our nation that will never change is the attitude of the wealthy upper classes 😂😂😂
Or Labour. One day they might have a policy that backs Britain.

Shame the fake laugh track muffles the best lines.
Are you sure it's canned laughter? I wouldn't have thought Victoria Wood would have had that.

This sketch is very funny and its got Victoria all over it. Oddly there are schools like this and girls just like this. They tend to fail at real life
