I attchaly started crying through this. And then when she got pulled out i burst into tears of happnines! Bless her, I am so happy she is ok!! :') xxxx
The horse must have been in the water a long time for the water to freeze like that around it. It couldn't walk properly straight away because it was so numb with cold.
Why ANYBODY was able to cover her with something when it was fucking cold outside the water? Poor girl, I almost died seeing that... God's blessed her...
Avoid activities that can further damage cold-injured skin. Do not rub or massage frozen skin. Do not rewarm frozen skin if refreezing is possible. Wait until you reach shelter. The injury will be worse if your skin freezes, thaws, and then refreezes. Do not walk on frozen feet if possible. However, it is better to walk on frozen feet than to thaw your feet if there is a chance they will refreeze. ... guess they did that at the shelter.

Actually no need to rush with the blankets, as far as I have learned. Hurry, yes, but you want to warm the horse *slowly*, and getting the horse up and move outside the cold water may be needed for a time. If you go to fast with the warmth you may damage blood vessels and I don't see how some more 5 minutes in - out of horse sight - an acceptable coldth (clue: rider can still wear usual riding trousers - can't be too cold then!) will do more damage than the possible damage taken by abrupt warmth.
Didn’t they call a vet? They should have dried the horse an put blankets on it. That’s what I would have done for my horse. Then put on back on track leg wraps an sheet under a blanket

Remember, the vid isn;t even 7 minutes long and you see the horse standing for another two mintues. No need to call for special trade marks and products there. But yes, I guess they will have dried the horse few minutes later.
The fact that the horse was in the water with NO RUG on in the first place, is due to the fact that many people in the UK don't rug this type of horse during the winter. They winter them out like this because they think they can take it. If you have a look in the background there are a few other horses, some have rugs on, others don't. Some do it just so they don't have the extra expense of buying rugs. My old boy was a heavyweight piebald cob, I always had him rugged up even though he always produced a very thick winter coat. Then when I did, I got called soft, you mollycoddle him, he can take it etc etc. They probs didn't have rugs for her in the first place.
That horse possibly died after from hypothermia as they did nothing to warm it up after being submerged for who knows how long before it was found and the rescue organised. can't believe they were doing nothing to warm it up or didn't give an update. Looked like they were removing ice from it's muzzle at the end.
o my God.... I would have hanged my self rather wastching my horse like this.. honestly I would have died ... I feel foor you and I+m glad it ended safe
All those people and not one with a bit of horse sense' FGS poor thing been stuck in freezing bloody water where are the rugs blankets hope they put it in a stable and rugged it up , wow beggars belief.
Because you don't want to massage frozen skin, especially not on the chance of refreezing. Best stay calm in a situation like this, take some more minutes to hours and do a slow, controlled warming up.

fantastic effort from the services... and what a lovely horse to remain calm in such a terrifying event.. so glad there was a happy ending :)
all of those people that were standing around should have had blankets ready.

Yeah, and rubbed her down vigorously with a towel to get the blood going again.
Exactly .

That's what I was thinking, although it looked like she didn't want to walk right away. It's not easy to move when you are seriously cold.
I AM CRY OUTSIDE A HORSE. I PRAY FOR HORSE. SO CUTE A HORSE. I LOVE HORSE.
Wow talk away while the poor horse freezes. It can barely walk. 😥

@@fragdeinpferd But it does say to get the person out if their wet clothes. Which I would assume is similar to drying off the horse.
omg... poor girl!!! glad shes out and ok!!! :)

oh that poor horse :( hope shes okay now?
How did it even get to this point???!!!! Poor horse!!! I would have removed it from there long before this could happen!
They should have been throwing blankets all over on her and getting her dry at this point why they didn't do it doesn't make sense to me
The video is no longer than 7 minutes, and this was actually one excellent rescue. I do believe they did just that the minutes after.
Where are the blankets!!!??? And who put this poor horse into this bad situation?
I'm baffled. How can there be water deep enough to almost hide a horse - in a driveway?
Hurry up and take the horse to a warm place
شكرا لكم ايها الابطال
i saw the link to this on Zy135's page ♥
so so glad she okay now! ♥
