Nice! The area by Livonia Avenue and New Lots Avenue used to to be nothing but those small houses! Now look at it. No more sunshine on those sections on that block and no more longshots of passing 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains.

It’s been 8 years since I’ve lived here. I miss it so much. I would take the L from Halsey to 8th Ave and the get on the C to 23rd at to walk to my job at 24th and 10th ave. I know the city is expensive and not the same but when you leave (I left for my marriage) you realize there is literally no place like it. I miss it so damn much. My best memories are from the city.
But fuck did the L train shut down so many fucking times.

Keep them they way they are, that would take 2 much time and then the (L) would have a shortage of cars...and then R160’s from the (J) & (Z) would be taken and only R179’s would be left and the R179’s can’t be used on the (L) and it would take away the R143’s only charm

This would go in general, shutdown or not, even if you did during a weekend were it was a shuttle or 2 sections, by Monday you’d still have the 143’s in the yard for tepairs

Why does the R188 seem like the narrower version of the R143, if both propulsions are the same

R188s run on the IRT A Division, while R143s are designed for the B Division. Both are built by the same company, Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
