I'm pretty sure it's because this is an anniversary season like how Gokaiger had mecha that are completely unrelated to eachother (race car, jet, submarine and a truck) for the sake of paying homage to previous seasons

dislike i personally have is rhat they ride there zords (i watch power rangers). why be on the outside of your big mecha when all the monster needs to do is just knock it off a little and you go flying
