    Hi Balkan, it would be interesting to see BIM objects from manufacturers (with technical data such us fixture load, wattage, voltage, heat dissipation..), inserted into your model, and using connector elements to link those values to the main model and see how that plays out on your energy analysis model. Would you do a video like that?

    Hi, thanks for the great tutorial! I have a question: Can I calculate the analytical values of a window family that I have created? I am trying to see the difference between double- and single-glazed windows on historic buildings so that none of the default families fit in. Thanks in advance :)

      @@ahmedseelawi2948 Sometimes this problem can be solved by changing the location from coordenates to the name of the place. Try to make sure that your location is not in coordinates.

Please keep up the good work. I have one question. I am a student at Oxford Brookes University and I wanted to do a research on energy analysis and optimisation (management) in a BIM environment. But it is not for a single building but at a community level. I was thinking of modelling the geometries on revit but I couldn't find a software to do the energy analysis. I have seen your autodesk insight but I guess its for a single building. What do you recommend me use? Please please I'm in a bit of trouble with deadlines. Thanks

      I think it has changed a bit in Revit 2020, but the 2019 version has an option for energy analysis as well.

      @@mlbc6441 it isn't as good as revit in my opinion due to having to interoperate with other tools via IFC such as navisworks but probably the next closest thing on mac - that or partitioning windows onto a mac for revit itself!

      @@AussieBIMGuru I tried partitioning with Parallels but I have a 4Gb RAM and I felt like it was too much to ask from my 8 year old Mac so.. guess I'll have to buy a new laptop very soon :( I could also upgrade my RAM and change to an SSD but I'm afraid it won't be enough to run all the softwares I need on an "old" Mac, I'm trying to figure out what to do

      @@mlbc6441 yes 4gb is difficult. I use 16gb myself on windows laptop and that barely cuts it for higher end software! Some of my colleagues get by on 8gb but revit and archicad sometimes struggle on that much for larger models
      Maybe look into EGPU options like thunderbolt etc.
      When I'm outside the office i use google remote desktop to access my 32gb machine at work, look into remote workflows if this is an option for you as well
