I enjoyed going down memory lane. I grew UP! on a Rupp! A 340 sprint to be exact and a Black Widow mini bike. I think Rupp's styling was years ahead the competition at the time. I can only image what they could have done if they were able to stay in business and evolve like current companies that are still here today. Thanks again.

They were awesome sleds but ahead of their time??? Not so much. Pretty much the same tech as everybody else... all 100 plus brands of them. Especially after Mr. Rupp left the company in 1973 not much changed and gone by 1978

I had a Rupp when I was about 12 years old. I think it was a Snow Sport, but I've never seen one exactly like it. Gas tank in front, electric start 340 Kohler engine. The hood was fiberglass, but did not flip forward and had to be removed with screws. Ran great! So light I could lift the back end and swing it around when I was 12 years old.

Beautiful video thanks!!! My Dad used to race Dart Kart from Rupp he became a dealer in the 60s and when the snowmobile came along he was selling them as well along with the GO-JOs and Ruppster, mini bikes and even the dirt bike!! I loved those days, I got to help uncrate and assemble and then TEST RUNS!!! Man you brought back some memories 😁!!

We had a neighbour back in the late 80’s, that had a Rupp 440 liquid cooled sled. It was the hot sled on the block. Very fast.

Got a nitro at 14. Dad always said "remember to check the throttle cabin and make sure its not froze" second ride pulled it over to start. Got it to almost start with choke then came the unchoke and give full throttle to start. Well it started with me pointed into the garage. The nitro had a front gas tank and i threaded acouple of cabnet and wall joices..caved in the front and sent my knee slamming into the carb (ooo had it for about a day(

Back in '73 my older brother raced a Nitro FA 340 as part of a local team. Wicked fast sled. His team ran everything from Stock all the way up to a 440 triple Mod.

went to USSA Sno Pro races in 1973 the Rupp factory mod class sled pulled out on to the track and BOTH skis came off...hilarious. One headed east the other headed west. I kid you not.....
