The Church Fathers were clear that Mary was the antithesis of Eve. Whereas Eve usurped the headship of Adam and led him and mankind into sin, Mary willingly submitted to God and brought into the world the Savior of mankind. Mary remains the epitome of what it means to be a godly woman. She stands as a humble bulwark against the spirit of our age.
