No one's saying the problems were unique to Merseyside, just that unemployment was the reason for the low crowds that you called feeble in your original comment. I would assume crowds were down elsewhere as well at this time. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

ALL attendances were plummeting, so don’t just single out Liverpool.
@@davidmurray5926 Liverpool were always #2 in crowds behind Man Utd. Even Everton's average was just 31,000 when they won the league in 1984/85.
