Agreed, MAC lipsticks are all that! Love the scent too, iconic. I adore Melt’s matte formula. Swatched that palette in store, gorgeous, but I prefer cool tones.. those greens though! Brun by Mac is a permanent shade, I think. Cork is old school goodness. Great vid. You rule.
At first I really didn't like the Melt palette because it looked like a disaster waiting to happen. Then to find out that it's actually magnetized? Gamechanger!!!
I am looking forward to your review of the Dominique cosmetics palette. I love the blue and green...but when I look at it at the store...I am not sure...so definitely want to hear your thoughts

I paused the video ran and got my snack in anticipation of you swatching Dominique cosmetics Rustic eye shadow palette lol. I'll be waiting for the review!! And when those plastic insets get on the floor they are a slippery fall hazard! Eventually I'm getting that Melt palette love the color scheme. I ended up buying Violet Voss "Best Life" palette instead because I loved the glitter shades.
I got the chocolate dahlia and been loving it because i can just do a quick eye look with those 3 shades, its nearly perfect!! might pick up a couple more... your lips are divine...
I got the other Mac iridescent powder in Into Eternity and yes it looks beautiful as a shimmery blush, i have light medium skin and i loveeee it! Get it!
I literally just stabbed a laura mercier palette that i was swatching with one of those plastic things while im watching this video! It's so frustrating!! Great haul as always! Tara has a better collection than Sephora!
Those heavy metal glitter liners always do that to me. They always pick up the shadow underneath for me so I only wear them as a liner usually stacked on a thick black wing. Like that the focus is my liner so I don't bother with shadow.
Hey Tara, you mentioned that the shimmer shades in the Melt palette are a bit hard to pick up, ya my Mac 242 won't even pick them up, however grab your Wayne Goss synthetic flat eye brush that came with the synthetic kit, the colors literally JUMP onto that brush with no effort at all, then apply perfectly to the eye!! I found this out with the Smoke palette as well, could not get anything out of the light green shimmer until I tried it with my Goss brush, then voila!!! Magic!
I’ve been doing a major palette declutter for the past two months, but I might have to treat myself to at least one or two from your haul and the two nude MAC lippies! I look forward to your review of Christen Dominique’s new palette, too. 😍
Gosh, you’re right, Tara, the Melt palette is crazy dark!! I like a stand-alone palette as much as possible. Melt should replaceyour other two defective palettes!! You shouldn’t have to buy new ones or suffer with exploded eyeshadows. Sending love and hugs your way to you and yours, including your animal family members! 🤟🏻🤗💛
Oh, Tara, I wonder if you could use the Mac irridescent powder as a bronzer with the coordinating Mac palettes in that collection. I think it might be soft and neutral but striking. I don't know, what do you guys think?
I guess I was lucky, I didn't have any issues at all with my Gemini or Smoke Sessions palettes. They're both fine - no bloom, no falling out of the pans, no crumbling or chunking out of the pans, nothing broken in transit. Months later & they're both still fine. Weird. Must have been some bad batches. You definitely weren't the only one, I remember seeing the complaints online when the palettes first launched. Maybe Melt will send you replacement so you don't have to repurchase? That really sucks, those palettes weren't exactly cheap :(

For the other palettes from melt, if you let the company know they may send you the specific colors that have puffed out... when I got my Gemini palette Luna came broken and they just sent me a replacement pan of that one
Tara. The glitter puff pump spray... Guerlain has some of those. Normally at the holiday they have a special one. I absolutely love them. Watch around Christmas for them. Plus the packaging is gorgeous. Oh! Love this shadow look on you. 💖💄💋
I agree that the Melt palettes are not stand alone. I ended up purchasing their single called Classic when I purchased 27 and Smoke Sessions a couple of months ago.
I didn’t know Melt Impulsive was magnetized !!!! I think I might reshuffle some shades then. I had no problem with puffing of shadows from my 27 and my Gemini ( bought off their site on their restock before Sephora announced), but the pan Goals out of my Gemini did come unglued from my palette, so I hope this magnetization thing is permanent because I love their shadows. Even the meh duochromw of Shape Shift blew me away when used with their stacks. I hope being at Sephora doesn’t make them create lazy, one stop shop palettes. We need innovation.
We just received Smoke Sessions, Twenty-Seven and Gemini palettes at my Sephora, and the pressing is not like the original palettes. I brought out my Smoke Session palette today, and I think I am going to get the newer ones from Sephora too. They should officially be in stores within the next two weeks, but just ask your local Sephora and they should grab it for you 😊

The MAC collection wasn't even on my radar but like you, I am seriously in love with the packaging and so happy that they put it on the actual product. I was so on the fence about the Melt palette and purposely held off buying it because I knew that you would and that Christine, Temptalia, would review it. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying it and now I am just waiting for Christine to give it the nod, also. I have to order most of my makeup on-line since I live in the woods in Montana so I like to be sure that the product it going to be good before buying. Having said that, it is scary ordering Melt on-line because you never know what you are going to get. I have had more than one palette arrive completely ruined. I love your haul videos and excited to see a review/makeup tutorial on the Dominique palette. I have both of her other palettes and really like them also. Deborah
Fwiw, I bought the Melt Cosmetics Smoke Sessions and Gemini palettes from Sephora. Neither have "exploding shadows," but I will say the Gemini palette seems to have a lot more kick up in the pan and patchiness on the eye than the review videos from when it first came out. The Smoke Sessions palette is spectacular, and based on initial reviews, it tended to be the less preferred of the two. I suspect they changed the formula and/or pressing methodology for the Sephora releases.
Hi, Tara. Did you think of using those Kaja top glittery shades for highlighting? At least the shades which are light enough for your skin. I'm just saying this cause I you always say how much you like the highlighters with glitters in them.
That is so strange about the MELT shadows. I have Gemini and Impulse and no problems with the stacks either. But my palettes do not travel far from the origin. Yours.. mid America I am guessing?? may be why you get this problem?? ALL dark colors from MELT can usually be applied lightly and built up, so if missing a transition, try that 🤩
Ichikirei Number One Beauty A ton of people have expressed the same issue with their Melt Smoke Sessions palette; the shadows don’t necessarily show up all puffy, but end up that way after a brief period of time. It’s been a legitimate debacle.
Tara use double tape and tape the plastic sheet to the mirror. I usually don't use the mirror and I hate when the plastic stabs my Shadows so I know how you feel.

Linda Balcom mine lasted for months until I moved a few states away. Then they exploded. I think it might be the high altitude and lack of humidity?
