Great song. Even John Lennon, who rarely gave compliments, said this song is truly original. “She had to heave me right across her shoulders”, to get him “upstairs for a ride”, “cause I just can’t seem to drink you off my mind.” Love it.
One of their best IMO. I absolutely love the backup singers in the chorus. The guitars doing their own thing on either side making the whole thing sound like a rough idling engine, but Charlie Watts keeping it all together straight down the centre. Just perfect.

Saw The Stones in the 80's. When this song started playing, they rose two huge blow up Honky Tonk gals. One on each side of the stage on top of some speakers. Big hair, short skirts and plenty of red lipstick. They were every bit of 20 feet tall. Favorite all time band hands down.

So this song was originally written as a twangy country song called "Country Honk", which eventually appeared on their album Let It Bleed. Keith Richards described it as a song written in the style of 1930s Jimmie Rodgers or Hank Williams. They soon soon transformed the song into this version, giving it a more kicked up bluesy rock feel and modifying the lyrics. This version was released as a single, and it became one of their best known hits. I love them both, but particularly love the acoustic guitar work on Country Honk. You should check that one out too.

‘Exile on Main Street’ is a masterpiece album...they had some great albums, indeed - Exile is a cut above. I’ve got Sticky Fingers album cover with actual zipper on it, too:-)
Somebody mentioned Prince doing a version as well but I remember one also by Ronnie Milsap.( Hearing that Joe Cocker has a version but so does Ricky Nelson )
What’s funny is that these metaphors flew right past me, when I was little. I’ve always loved this song, and it’s possibly my favorite of theirs. “It’s gonna go downhill from here.” LOL.
During the 60's I wasn't a Stones fan. As I got older I learned to appreciate them a lot. They are the embodiment of rock and roll. No one else is like them...no one. Forty-six tours since since 1963 and over 2,000 concerts. A great band that truly follows the concept of KISS...Keep It Simple Stupid. Financially they don't need to tour...they just plain-old love to play go on the road.
To me, this is one of their best recordings. It’s been covered by several artists, including Ricky Nelson. His lacks the depth of this one, but it shows you can’t keep a good song down.
Someon mentioned a live version by Prince, another by Humble Pie!. I've heard the worst one By Ronnie Milsap. It'd suprise me if Johnny Winter hasn't done it.

Your moves are off the hook! So smooth!
My husband stumbled upon your channel. He loves your reactions. He had a request. Would you do TV Dinners by ZZ Top off The Eliminator Album?
I saw the Stones the first time in 1964 or 65 at the open air theater in Balboa Park San Diego and have been going to their concerts since. When did I get this old…..
Was my favorite Stones song for many years...I sort of lived that life for a few years...best time of my life...
If you want another Stones country style song try Sweet Virginia, always loved that one, also Dead Flowers is a great country-esque tune
No spare parts is a good country one too
This is one of my favorite Stones songs! Play this one in the truck all the time!
If you haven't already, you should do a Reaction for the Stones "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" and "Girl With Far Away Eyes".
It's the first song I choose when driving. 6 minutes of pure joy
‘Exile on Main Street’ is a masterpiece album...they had some great albums, indeed - Exile is a cut above. I’ve got Sticky Fingers album cover with actual zipper on it, too:-)
You need to check out the Humble Pie cover if this - Steve Marriott kills it
Somebody mentioned Prince doing a version as well but I remember one also by Ronnie Milsap.( Hearing that Joe Cocker has a version but so does Ricky Nelson )
Now you need to hear Albert King's cover of this song! Then you just need hear more Albert King!
Yes! “Born Under a Bad Sign!”
Stones - always great, and Charlie Watts, always the foundation.
What a great musician!
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE STONES SONG !!!💘💘💘💘
First!! Beast mode today 💪🤣
@@elysehfm8797 Happy Friday Love!
Its gonna be a great day of music with our reactors, I can feel it! Jamel throwing some FUNKY Honky Tonk out there first today just set the day in motion. Let's go, sista!
@@elysehfm8797 Oh Lawd! I better have another diet coke. I thought it was Friday. 🤣🤣🤣 WTH!
@@jennhurl Better a day early than a day late😎
Joe Cocker does an amazing cover of this!
With Leon Russell on guitar.
@@No-N-R-G yessss! You gotta do it Jamel!
One of THE great songs in Rock And Roll history.
one of my favorite Rolling Stone Songs ever
Could you please do the studio version of "You Can't Always Get What You Want?" ua-cam.com/video/jv9sDn_2XkI/v-deo.html. You did an older, low-quality live version a while back and fans collectiveley said you were missing out on almost everything that makes the song great.
You can never have too much Cowbell!! Loved this reaction!! Thank you Jamel for making me laugh, I really needed it today!! 😁♥️✌🏼
Love the Stones and the talking tee-shirt man... Also, the lyrics “She blew my nose then blew my mind” sounds like a reference to the use of a well known designer drug... 🇯🇪🇯🇪🇯🇪🇯🇪
Stones are a favorite, this is a favorite Stones.
