Good drummers, very good, I've seen many, but someone like you is unbelievable. You are an extraterrestrial !!! Your peace of mind, your security, your microsecond precise steps are wonderful things. Thanks for posting this video, now I will forward it to all my musician friends.
Gotta love UA-cam for throwing your incredible talent my way so unexpectedly today. I don't think I've ever seen a more relaxed and effortless player than you. I must have watched literally thousands of videos to date here on YT but seldom have I seen this level of competence, but today I'm left cobsmacked at your effortless style and ability to make your drums talk bigtime with soooo little visual effort....Subscribed for sure.
Yeah it seemed cheesy to keep thanking everyone and my grandaughter who's a lot more youtube savvy sat here clicking the likes one day with raised eyebrows lol so I've been gradually doing that as a thank you. But anyway thanks Feri for your comment my friend.......Martin.
Thank you and yes it was an 18 ZXT one that I came by accidentally although I've since sold it and now have a classic Paiste 2002 20" which sounds so much more muddy and less clanky.
I play in a little (but growing) jazz function group... and they want to play this and have basically told me I need to learn from this version... You appear to have set the bar very high. I'm in trouble...!
@haroldmcarter mainly Zildjian paper thins and k heavy ride, k19 dark crash a couple of paistes and some Stagg splashes, the hats are zildjian quick beat platinum electro plated (hard to find these days) thanks for the comments and all the best to your grandson, he's chosen a great instrument to learn.
Hi John, yes this is a difficult style to approach if you haven't had any grounding in big band bebop and does require a finger style technique to achieve the fast triples on the ride. My best advice therefore is to just stick to a straight 4 and hang on for dear life :) Thanks for the comment Martin ('The Drumteacher' Northampton)
Hi Gary, I started with just a pair of sticks when I was 14 after listening to my dad talking about his days as a snare drummer in the Welsh Guards. My first 'kit' was a huge leather suitcase (bass drum) which I played with my left hand, a cookie tin (snare) also played with my left hand and a variety of other things that made a noise, I used to play along to Beatles songs and stuff. Dad taught me the rudiments and I got my first kit soon after and learned from various sources including a private teacher who taught me to read as well. Joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra at 15 where I got my big band training and, turned pro at 16. So really my dad was the man I have to thank for my fluidity he was very loose when he played.

Thank you Pietro, greetings from England, Martin 🙂
This just might be the greatest thing I've ever seen. Everybody jizzes over death metal drumming but THIS? This is true heavy metal. Bravo!
Thank you John :)

Wow that was very impressive, and I’m pretty critical! For a second I thought, as this guy the studio drummer on the track?! Really good, bravo!
Thank you Anthony

As a drummer in a beatles cover band, this makes me want to switch to jazz. Outstanding!

mart22222 ... Totally agree .. The LAST thing you need is to appear to be struggling to keep up. Dotted eighths r prob ovrkill at that tmpo anyway..
I'm 66. I was in school band long ago. I wonder with your great stick work if you also learned in band, or on your own? Awsome drumming. 😎🇺🇸

The drumming is great....the singing sucks...not the voice, but that isn't how the song goes.
