VW Tiguan clockspring, Air bag light on, no horn, no steering buttons working

Before I spend almost $1000 on a clock spring, Id like to make sure there is nothing else that is faulty. What would you suggest I check? I have a 2010 TDI Tiguan

Get all the codes read to see if there are multiple faults related to steering wheel, the clock spring is the connection between steering wheel controls and the car.

No, fitted it, cleared all codes and everything worked fine
