I have read article after article on 5G. All of them have said that this would be the best thing since sliced bread, but none could properly articulate how in terms of the real world. Walker just did in 22 mins what all of those articles could not. This blew my mind! This was super practical, thanks a million. Going to jump on Qualcomm's site and check out more. And Zack, I could not stop laughing at 12:04 where you showed the photo of the RJ45 connector and the questionable crimping job ... LMAO :)
devices will need to be 5G LTE compatible as well, right? My macbook pro can connect to a 5G wifi, but it doesnt have a 5G LTE card. Many iot devices are currently 4G LTE, so new projects will need gear with 5G LTE compatible cards to support it?
I live in UAE and I have seen in most of the factories the PLC s used are very old with only communication to small HMIs. For those with new PLCs, machine manufacturer normally put password for the programs. No way to pull the data from those. So I think, Industry 4.0 looks very far unless the factory decide to invest money to upgrade the old system and unlock the new system by paying charges to the supplier
I live in UAE , working at DP World ,Dubai port . Currently all Quay cranes are operating in manual mode even though the company upgraded the cranes to automation (changed form siemens to ABB ) but we don't have enough information to make the machine work in fully automated in a safe and efficient way. I think industry 4.0 and 5G together can solve the problem.
ExCELLent video! Cool seeing your Vibe board in action. Thanks for the 5G update! It would also be good to have an automation related private 5G update next. Seems like the store and forward capability of MQTT make it the perfect protocol for 5G wireless.
Have you seen 5G interference with older electronics and seniors? Some regulators like FTC with aviation and Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations require extensive testing for communication and internet in power plants. I have seen 3 and 4 g impacted old (10 years ago) dose devices would jump when you transmitted from a cell or radio device.
5G has a much lower range compared to 4G, so the towers need to be much closer. That would also explain the lower latency - signal doesn’t have to travel that far in a roundtrip. So would be surprised if you will have the same coverage area.
What about the inherent advantages and disadvantages of beam forming and massive mimo. Which are required for 5g and give it the ability for devices to the geolocated within an inch. Suddenly manufacturing assets could be precisely known geospatially, as would a personal phone...

LOL! Thanks Emile!
Very well done! Imagine hearing that "we don't need 5G because 3G works great." Standard German business response to 5G digital transformation.
Exactly! We must innovate and do more with less.

Hi. I was thinking to move to UAE, wondering what kind of PLC they use there?
Thanks!
Please use regular white board. The bright TV behind you is inconvenient to the eyes.

Thank you for sharing this information! 👍👌👏 Can you please make video on AWS wavelength?

This is where Mesh and Device to Device comes in

I want to talk to you about PKI.
Awesome
