Honestly I feel like they couldve done more with the setting of the campaign, like why not give us a mission set during the battle of 73 eastings, or a siege of waco mission?
This game should talk about more Gulf War and less on anything else. Also, I don't think Siege of Waco had anything to do with Gulf War. However, since you mentioned it, Timothy McVeigh was the Gulf War veteran who was responsible for the 1995 Oklahoma City Bombing in protest of US government and the Waco Siege
@@ernestw2474 True, the campaign was set primarily in the gulf war and should’ve focused on that, I 100% agree there, but if they’re gonna go with the whole pantheon thing and how its making the “CIA evil” (which it already was) they should probably mention actual abuses of the federal governments power that happened around the time.
The Gulf War missions were the only thing I found interesting. Not to say that the others were bad, I do love the inauguration one but as someone who played the Conflict Desert Storm games, the gulf war missions were just better. Like I have a feeling this would have been better if the used the tac map mechanic from the mission with Park for the whole game so at least the players got what was advertised as a “Gulf War game”
@CoreyAnderson-l5y The game literally talks about the Gulf War and a group supplying Saddam with weapons And the main cast is trying to stop them and clear their names

I find Gulf War missions are more interesting than others, therefore I feel that this should be the major setting for this game. Treyarch should've write the story of the collaboration between the CIA, US Army, and Air Force in dealing with Saddam Hussein's forces and his Republican Guard, aided by Soviet ultranationalists led by Imran Zakhaev for profit, since Hussein's Iraq and Soviet Union were historically allies (despite the latter condemns Iraq for invading Kuwait), and Raul Menendez who would do the arms trafficking to aid the Iraqis which the CIA is also hunting down the latter. And also witness the historic battles like 73 Eastings and Highway of Death. .
@@guts-141unfortunately treyarch and black ops have a story rolling anything that doesn’t pertain it would be irrelevant BUT I know BATTLEFIELD would definitely be the one to pull off a authentic war story like that
Damn you are right!!👍. This is what exactly the treyarch could have done! Whatever the errors would be in the multiplayer and zombies, the Players and others could have really enjoy the single player campaign, with historical authenticity. This would be more fun, if they also add era accurate weapons!!
That’s one thing I cant stand about COD games set in the past. In a game set 1991 you could have with the first Weaver, Aimpoint and Tasco red dot sights for attachments, but thats really it if you want historically accurate attachments. All these optics are fictional in game but based off optics that didn’t exist until years later. If you had set other parts of the campaign in the mid to late 90s, then you could have the first version of the Eotech holographic sight. They had red dot sights in the early 90s, just not very many.
So fuckin true. Beyond the iconic Gulf War oil field flames, there's nothing identifying about the 90s setting in BO6 because everything is an amalgamation of shit that exists a decade later. They've stripped anything that could've been unique to the time period, whereas in games like WaW, BO1, and Cold War, you felt the era come alive in front of you.
In the Gulf War, when anti-aircraft guns were fired heavily from Baghdad, the sky was covered, but they did not include this in the game and most of the Iraqi soldiers were captured in the conflict. This detail is not included. Tank battles are not mentioned much. In short, the Gulf War episodes are garbage.
Indeed, I'm kinda tired of those crap such as bioweapon, enemy state scientist and mole from inside organization, they just play old elements of BO1, BO2 all over again in this new title
It would've been much cooler if completing side objectives would increase the difficulty of the open world missions as you progress. Aftee a few enemy camps or depots cleared out, patrols start roaming. After 10 camps cleared out, tanks/transport choppers roam, then on your last few objectives Iraqi special forces (or Pantheon) send hit squads after you similar to DMZ when you got a bounty placed on you. Would definitely make the open world missions feel like the Gulf War rather than just another open desert mission.
Someone should've told the treyarch guys that spec ops units were light as fuck in the 90s and they barely had any holo/red dot sights besides a few prototypes that never saw action. You can just leave those for multiplayer. I miss the days when treyarch tried to stick to historical immersion to a certain degree. Not anymore, that's for sure.
And attempting to shove Gusev into the engine after getting the information would perhaps be one of the most brutal part in Call of Duty games. Personally, that's kind of immoral but I am glad that Sims stops that. Also, Sims looks resembled Don Cheadle
Obviously took influence from the Bravo Two Zero mission. Still disappointing though. Wish the campaign didn’t focus on so many special operations missions and actually took place in battles like older Call Of Duty games did.
I'm playing it on Game Pass and I'm disappointed that the thing I wanted most from the game (Gulf War) had so little content and feels so futuristic. It doesn't feel like a 90s conflict.
Extremely underwhelming campaign and possibly the worst they've ever done with a real life setting. When I heard this game was gonna be during the Golf War, I imagined Treyarch would go all out.
