This mixer is everything for a DJ like me, because I'm not all bells and whistles. I love this for the inno fader, clean sound, easy to operate, plug and play with Serato, very minimal but effective features and I'm don't have to explain to my wife why I spent a months rent on a mixer I won't be using at gigs. It's an amazing mixer!
Only gripe is that there is only one set of inputs. I have Phase and sometimes play out vinyl so I have to unplugged the tables or receiver when switching back and forth.
Not exactly... The DUO has a lot of things going for it over this like more inputs and outputs and the ability to adjust curve and reverse for all faders on the front face. There's more as well like an AUX input on the front.
Got it looking through the internet for similar issues like mine: fresh out the box won't connect audio, failed autosave xml file, does not read left channel, computer audio plays THROUGH the mixer when turned on. I checked all the cables: all is good. I'm starting to think it's a bad mixer. Numark customer support is only open realistically 4 days out of the week because Friday they close early at 3:30 pm. Their phone hours are only 10:30 to 6:30 otherwise and not available 7 days out of the week which is hard for international callers and the international number has issues working.
Got the mixer but having problems with the microphone being really low. Im using the rca master out and the only way to hear the microphone is to turn the master volume all the way up and my channel levels down low but when i do that my cues are real low and its hard to mix. Im going to try and hook it up through xlr master output to see if there is a difference. I also turned the mix/aux all the way up in the software with no change in mic volume. Im using a MacBook Pro. Serato. Dj Pro 2.2.1. Hope hooking it up through xlr will work when my cords come in. Any suggestions yall???
@@RealDJblaze hey man. I've had this mixer for a couple of months and It's kind of a love/hate relationship because there are times where I want more like the DJM-S9. I mean 4 pads for each channel!? I'm always running out and I wouldnt have a problem with 8 pads and the red led colors over time gets boring very quickly. But I LOVE the toggle paddles I'm so glad they included it unlike the Reloop Elite. But then again, I could have used that 500 to apply towards a used S9 or 72 so it's a really difficult decision. If i had to choose over again? I'd go for the pioneer djm-s9 if you can afford it.
The only thing I don’t like is when u switch from cue to sample to roll both sides switches instead of just one side switch at a time .. why do both sides switch at the same time? Is their a way where u can switch only one side at a time ?
Thanks for the video. I'm switching up from a Xone: 23 with an innofader pnp 2 My SL3 stopped working with my newer Mac OS and I needed to find a new way into DVS. The lack of inputs is a little bit of a downer - but overall, like you said, can't beat the product for the value. Definitely going to scoop one. Appreciate the video a lot! Update - now i'm watching your review on the DUO
@@kareem_the_dream naw. No yelling! Just the voice sounds similar! It’s dope tho! Is it pretty easy to flip back from vinyls and dvs? I wanted ftp drop money on the Rane 72 but some times it’s a little overkill for me.
It's definitely only between these two for the lowest priced Serato DJ mixer... The Numark Scratch has a really cool way of implementing the effects with the paddels, so that kinda does it for me. The Mixars DUO is a better mixer overall in almost every other category though including sound quality, build quality, and inputs and outputs...
@@RealDJblaze Thanks, inputs and outputs aren't a big concern for me, but you mentioned two big things, build and sound quality. On the specs sheet the Duo is twice as heavy and generally heavier is better (most of the time). So I doubt you use the Scratch all the time, but is it quality enough that you would think it will hold up? Also, I'm using my original PMC05 and SL3. How much worst (or better) do either of this mixers sound vs the SL3? THANKS AGAIN!!!
not sure if you need drivers or not, but it will work with the 12s... You can get about a $700 discount right now if you buy 2 12's and a Rane 72 at once, so you should factor that into the costs...
@@ShadyAsh85 Of course you need to download Serato DJ to your computer to use the software. There is no mixer that has a DJ software implemented, especially at 499$ 😂!!! Can you set the effects switches to Single Effect mode? I want to know if you can dial in the detailed effect parameters for an echo while still using the paddles to trigger.
You can trigger the selected effect on any paddle and still be able to move the depth knob of the effect to change it at the same time. I don't have this any longer to test, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do that...
