Last time I went to callfornia adventure we had to wait for our fast pass so we just watched the people get soaked on that ride

...with all these facts you've been calling it the wrong name the whole video! It's Grizzly River RUN. 😅 Also when talking to the CM it looked like you were gesturing to the attraction entrance when asking about the bears name. Oo-soo-ma-te is the name of the bear who turned into Grizzly Peak BUT the bear standing outside the queue has been affectionately named Timmy by cast members. Love your videos! - a former GRR CM. 🐻

Current GRR CM here - for some reason that was never really explained he's not supposed to be called timmy anymore, and WDI officially gave him the name Tim Burr.

The voice of Smee was Bill Thompson. He also did the voice of the park ranger in the Disney Cartoons with Humphrey the bear. So I'm guessing it's really the park rangers voice that is giving us the rules for this ride. Lol

Before steam engines, donkeys were often used for logging and other industries because they were easily trained, their smaller size make them extremely maneuverable, and they are quite strong. So, when a steam engine came along that could do the work of a donkey, you had a Steam powered donkey or a steam donkey. You can see this type of naming strategy throughout history, its quite fascinating.

OMG, Girlslers? REALLY CHRIS??? MINERS? ORE? You were on a roll today, your puns were pretty good but you should hear MINE!! Cricket, cricket!!! SO, We went on this ride and it broke down while we were on it. They had to drain all the water and then we had to walk out and we got to see a little of the behind the scenes but it was SO hot and we had to wait until the water drained before we could move from that spot. LOVE all y'all SO much. Have a magical day.

This is one of my favorite rides at the Disney Parks, and by far the best rapids ride out there
They say dont feed the bears i wish there were bear faces poking out from the woods in different places or peeking over the walls here and there maybe they could move them around so it was different every day and you had to really keep an eye out for them that is the only complaint i have about this ride though it is super fun

I've always ridden this one in the daytime + in Oct./ Nov. so it was a little colder 4 me. I would ride it early so I could dry out. LOL Fun Factoid* The 1st river rapids ride was from my city Houston, TX @ the now defunct AstroWorld. The then GM Bill Crandall designed on a cocktail napkin. INTAMIN bought it from him. AW actually received royalty $$$ from the manufacturer. Because DCA is so small, (like w/ many Disneyland attractions, Grizzly is "stacked" on top of itself like a "coiled snake" to maximize the space. Keep informing + making us laugh!

Awesome video Chris well done PPP Crew, love that ride we went on it in January 2018 we all got soaking wet but it was so much fun we still talk about it. We dryed off in closest bathroom under the hand dryers. All about making memories 👍👍👍

A note about the new spiel voice: it is not Smee. It is someone emulating the the voice of the animated character Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore who was voiced by Bill Thompson. The character was in a number of Disney shorts that take place in national parks. The actor did provide the voice for Smee, the White Rabbit, Droopy and a whole bunch of other animated stuff you’ve seen. My guess would be that they got Jeff Bennet to record the speech (since he voiced Smee in the “Pirate Fairy”), but I have no evidence of that.

I still find it funny how people wear the poncho on a water ride. IN 90 degree weather. I've seen it done many many times. I guess the feeling of wet cloths is gross. But the cold water feels amazing. :-D

You can sometimes get a bonus ride. There are two exit spots cross from each other on each car. If they don't line up with the dock when you come in, they warn you it may be awkward getting out and if you want you can go around again without getting out. BONUS.

Note on the safety spieler - it is true that it is a voice actor imitating the actor who played Mr Smee, but it is NOT supposed to be Smee. It is supposed to be a very obscure character that he also played named Ranger Woodlore, who appeared in 5 or 6 Humphrey the Bear and Donald Duck shorts back in the 50s and 60s.

9:34 when i went there was this lady at the Green stand when the cart before us went we just stay there for like 2 minutes we got stuck with the gates on us the dime the lady in the green stand fix it fixed it so our ride was pretty long considering on the big drop we had to stay there for like a minute and 30 seconds
This ride will always be known within my family as “The Hat Stealer” because on one of our vacations my parents went on it and my dad lost an old Mickey Mouse ballcap that my mom had given him years ago

I was there last week with 90+ degree weather and this ride felt amazing. Also, Grizzly Peak is the most underrated land in all of the Disneyland Resort IMHO

When I went to DCA, I had to ring out my sock after riding Grizzly River Rapids.
Disney uses bromine over chlorine because it's easier to maintain, not because it smells nicer. Chlorine needs to be repeatedly shocked for it to be effective over time while bromine doesn't. It's a cost effective thing. Actually, prolonged or mass exposure to bromine is more irritating than chlorine, but little splashes from rides don't hurt. Keep the growls coming.
The smell is just a wonderful side effct then. I'll keep those growls coming. :D

No allergies. Miles favorite is Donald Duck. Mine is Mickey Mouse and Amanda's is Goofy's
