Plus 1st up v Raiders it's gonna be an arm wrestle & could see them targeting his D. Be bloody interesting & for me first up I'm going with TMM 7 & TB 6.

Yes, we might have the ability to grunt the ball up the field, but that energy would be better used at the end of some good yardage in the opposition’s 20m. I think we’d be a huge threat with more ball in better position. On a side note I have preminitions of metcalf scoring brilliant tries up the middle from Healy break and off load !

I think if we go Tanah look I’ll still be excited to see if he’s developed in those other areas but I’m the same with you I thought TMM showed a ton of great things last year that can open the discussion to METCALF being the dominant kicker and those 2 working in tandem! Either way I’m curious to see how webby goes ☺️ I think by the end of the year Taine will be the fullback my brother just a feeling like CNK has been unreal for us in my opinion and deserves a start but Taine will be knocking the door down and with future being a preference now I believe he will snag that fullback jersey at some point this year.

looking forward to another big season. i thought TMM had good support from Walker, when Walker started carrying injuries general attack declined. i hope Dylan and Clark build a good rotation. Would like to see how Tanner Boyd and Metcalf work together.
Yeah good point but Fish coming in helps lessen the blow in that area as he avg’s 120 per game to afb’s 150 per game, plus we’ve had games without AFB like the phins game where we still dominated the run metres stat line with running for 1700 metres to the dolphins 1500. I’ll also say that RTS if he was to be on the wing his metre’s boost what we got from Montoya as well. What I’m trying to say either way is we seem to be able to cover in those areas anyway 🙏
The TMM love channel is back 😀 but barring injury halfs combo will likely be Boyd who actually has a good kicking game which will only get even better under Webster alongside Metcalf whose pace and energetic unpredictable play really creates doubt in oppositions.Which one gets the 7 jersey will be worked out preseason. TMM had a couple of very good games but when the heat came on late in season in winnable must win games against Raiders and Dogs he failed to deliver in fact was MIA at crucial times which must count against him going forward. CHT is a great backup or 14 off the bench. Arguably one of the top utility players in the NRL Poor defense and poor kicking games tormented us in 2024.These two areas MUST be fixed.

As I pointed out in the video there is a big difference between long kicking games with TMM and Boyd but I don’t think that should be the holding point when Mets wants to step up this year in a more dominant role let’s call it whether he has the 6 or the 7 on his back. The balance they have played with from past games that I’ve seen has me excited to see what they can produce as in the ball playing ability (which is night and day above Tanah Boyd even over his whole career statistically) and if Metcalf can kick at the above 300 metres per game average which I’ve pointed out in the video he has the ability to do so (not a huge sample but can do), I think that combination trumps the Tanah Boyd being a kicking option and not much else to provide and METCALF being the sole attacking threat with ball playing and running ability. That’s just me. To end I agree that defence lost us a lot of games last year but kicking definitely wasn’t the major issue last year in my opinion. More so breaking down teams in the opposition and scoring points with the combination of SJ and TMM. Soo good to be back and hear from you again jacko !! Here’s to another amazing year of content !!
@@ash_thomas Oh well we can banter and argue as much as we like but at the end of the day Webster will pick whoever he wants and reports are Boyd is training the house down while Metcalf is certain to get a halfs spot.I doubt Boyd has jumped the ditch to play reserve grade as a backup half so must have been told he has a very good chance of playing first grade. Boyd's kicking game was a huge factor in their win over us last year which would have caught Webster's eye for sure. Folk who underestimate how much a good kicking game effects results over the long NRL season really surprise me.Hell just check out GF winners over the last decade but each to their own.

No arguments here as I said in the video if I’m wrong here and Webby selects Boyd I totally understand just giving my views on it and why I believe he could swing the other way. A couple things tho, the panthers sat under us last year in kick metres per game and in the grand final lost the overall kicking stats due to their defensive game overall in which they don’t rely on a that kicking role more that it’s an advantage to them. We have similar gameplan to them and the ability to get into good field position to which we don’t need a huge kicker so METCALF and TMM shouldn’t be as much of an issue as you think I believe anyway. I’m definitely not negating the importance of a good kicker my argument is more on thinking that Metcalf can be the dominant kicker in the team to get the job done. That’s all. As much as I want Martin and Metcalf as our halves. I feel you can't write off Tanah Boyd. Defensively sound than what Metcalf can bring apart from his attacking prowess. Boyd can run a team around the field, he's a general in the making and I feel better with Metcalf as your 14. We might have a good attacking game but when we're defending set for set I feel like Tanah Boyd stands out better. Plus Metcalf has proven to be injury prone since his signing over to thr warriors.

But the one thing I would say no matter what Metcalf has to be in the pairing either way especially because he our highest upside for sure !
