Hey Greg, it's Nick, sorry it took me a long time, congratulations for your first 1k+ video. Similar to yourself, I am still entertained and highly regard 'Three Idiots' as a movie that resonates with students, Asians, and society, transcending generations as long as the rat-race system is still being upheld within most societies. You hit the nail on the head on why this movie works, it's ability to synthesize relatability + depth + slapstick allows it to be memorable without coming off as preachy/or as a PSA, optics mather after all. The characters also work well as representations of what the author supports and goes against, effectively hammering the message. Bridging your own experience on how it resonates with you helps convince the audience to understand the practicalities of what makes the movie good instead of simply waxing on film theory. In the end, a movie is as good as how the audience perceives it in most instances.
Though like most critiques of the competitive culture of the education system it's quite limited to the constraints of a liberal viewpoint, as the system itself is merely a symptom of the overarching problem of a hierarchy based society resulted from the capitalist system, hence the movie being an "imperfect critique" of education. I believe you touched this but you can probably extend this topic in another video if you wish and maybe provide examples of movies that critique the education system from a more Marxist perspective.
Overall, good job, the essay community is overall competitive but as long as you find your brand you'd definitely stand out!
