  • Fast Breakfast Green Smoothie!
    This is the recipe we see at Vitamix Demonstrations
    Recipe:
    1 Whole Orange (peeled)
    1-2 inch slice of Pineapple with the core (peeled, unless you have thoroughly cleaned outside. The Vitamix is powerful enough to liquify the skin of the pineapple)
    1 small slice of a Lime (only about 1/2cm wide slice at most)
    1/3-1/2 of a banana (peeled. More will make it creamier)
    1 cup Spinach loosely packed ( a small handful is usually plenty)
    2 tsp - 2 tbls Agave (any other sweetener will work too. If you fruit is ripe this smoothie will taste great without the sweetener. I recommend starting out using 2 tbls and work down as your taste begins to enjoy the strong flavors.)
    6 cubes Ice (use as much as you like. More will make this recipe thicker)
    Instructions:
    Add ingredients into Vitamix in order listed. Place black lid and safety lid plug on the Vitamix container. Start on a low speed. Move dial from Speed 1 up to 10. If your Vitamix has a "High" switch, turn it on now. Blend with the Black lid on. Remove small clear lid plug and use the tamper stick in the corners to push the mixture into the blades. The smoothie will start to move on its own inside the container and it will turn all one color. Test texture after as 45 seconds of blending and continue blending on high with the lid on if you want a smoother texture. It takes about 60 seconds to completely liquify seeds and skins of fruits and vegetables. With ice in your smoothie the temperature will stay cold for about 90 seconds. Turn off Vitamix and unplug if there is no on off switch. Pour into glasses or bowls and serve right away!
    This Smoothie will keep in a closed jar in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
