Easily one of my top 10 hip hop songs as well. And with Bill, just the way he says “goddam homie…my mind’s playing tricks on me”, has so much emotion and self reflection.
@@yunguterus3990 argue with them about it... Bushwick Bill literally said its about a paranoid schizophrenic in an mtv yo raps interview in '94. You can have your own demons prior to experiencing the streets.
In addition to Isaac Hayes' South Park role, he scored the music for the 1971 movie "Shaft" and received an Academy Award for the iconic theme song, fittingly called "Theme From Shaft". As heard here, too, the man sure knew how to write a slick, funky groove.
I know I'm late... But fyi scarface wrote this whole song..but he gave Willie d and Bushwick bill his second and 3rd verse.. so the ghetto boys had a single..big respect to scarface grate writing
Guy in middle dissecting the song perfectly. Good job bro. I’m from Houston and grew up on getto boys. Scarface is considered your favorite rappers favorite rapper and to me he is top 3 EVER dead or alive
This was my introduction to “Gangsta Rap,” Geto Boys we’re old school from Houston and Scarface went on to have a decent solo career and so did Bushwick Bill. Check out Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangster, Gangster of Love are great tunes as well.
Excellent review (thanks to the guy in the middle) of one of my favorite songs of all time. And the only hip hop song my now 75 year old dad ever admitted to liking. But yeah the guy in the middle would probably be better served without the other guys - especially without the white guy on the left that didn't like the song. Still an excellent reaction and a like and a subscribe thanks to the insight of the guy in the middle. Keep it up.
Thank you sir! I will have you know that this was an old video of ours. We are all much more engaged nowadays. Sometimes it takes a while to find your niche and to be comfortable 👍
Can I just say he’s not going to Church to change. Southerners attend Church on Sunday regardless what you do Monday thru Sat. Lol I think Bushwick Bill played on the fact that he was a little person(kids candy)wordplay. Lol
I am with you, Ryan - l love Dots. But i love Reeses too! This song was a little much. BUT there were parts i liked "the chorus"! The facts were interesting.
This is one of the most incredible rap songs ever made. If you don't hold the utmost love and respect for the Geto Boys, you dont get to have an opinion.
You might've heard this song because of Kodak Black he reused the beat. You guys should react to another Houston Legend Zro, he has over 20 albums recorded. React to Zro Life is a Battlefield, Mo City Don (Freestyle not written), Tired ft Mya, and Smokers Anthem
This was my Rock music late 80's early 90's, wasn't feeling Grunge, Gangsta Rap bought back the N word, Bushwick is my favorite rapper, the Little Big Man.
Being Black is not a lifestyle..lol. We live like this period. Looking over your shoulder is just a part of the Black experience. This was my teenage years
😄 Not the first and won't be the last time we have had differing takes on songs. It's one of my favorites but I always respect their honest opinions- Nick
One of the greatest songs ever recorded and the video too
Yes,yes
I have some things to say about the video's second verse but besides that its fire
This song came out when I was 10 and this song literally kept me away from drugs and the streets. This was a powerful song in the early 90s.
Guy in the middle was dissecting this song very well. I love this song too!!
Broke the song down like it was a Class Project 🤦♂️😂😂
he wasn't exaggerating none of it, that's the beauty of classic hip hop songs like this, Streiht Soul food mman
You dont know that, you didnt know scarface personally
This is in my top 10 hip hop songs ever. The sample usage is incredible. And Bill's verse is epic.
Easily one of my top 10 hip hop songs as well. And with Bill, just the way he says “goddam homie…my mind’s playing tricks on me”, has so much emotion and self reflection.
The song is basically describing life as a paranoid schizophrenic and the things the see and deal with
more like ptsd from the street life and what all came with it
@@yunguterus3990 actually James is right it’s a combination of both
@@yunguterus3990 argue with them about it... Bushwick Bill literally said its about a paranoid schizophrenic in an mtv yo raps interview in '94. You can have your own demons prior to experiencing the streets.
or drugs... Uppers make you extremely paranoid.
Always struck me more like a guilty conscience and blood on your hands. Involved and so forth
I’m from nyc and back then we weren’t rocking anything except northeast, but this song was pumping by everyone.
Geto Boys are one of the best rap groups of all time. The Resurrection is their best album in my opinion.
The dive into the trash was my favorite video scene EVER!!! Classic!!

Late 80's, early 90's. That was life for a lot of people. Still, those years had a lot of appeal for some. Memories.
Part of this song stems from when Scarface was locked up in a psych ward when he was younger
He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword. Love Willie’s biblical reference there. That’s what it is
30 years ago. Damn.....that last verse is the end all. Over.
Buschwick Bill actually died once before and came back to life. He we going into the freezer and woke up
Great rap when it’s done right it’s sounds this good
Especially when its actually telling you a story not this shit today
I bought this cassette in 1991.
Rest up #LittleBigMan 🕊
I still know all the words.
You just blessed them young men.

Check out Scarface Suicide note. Most people don't know how profound that song is.
The 90s were raw!
I am with you, Ryan - l love Dots. But i love Reeses too! This song was a little much. BUT there were parts i liked "the chorus"! The facts were interesting.
Small kitkats hell yeah
The concept of the song is about the side effects of cocaine

The man in the middle was excellent. The third guy who sat there and stated that he didn’t get it and the he could not relate, I hope you never do.
Of course is not crazy good you don't know music
MEEEP
To this Willie d makes me laugh and I’m pretty sure that isn’t his intent
Why the dude all the way on the right so of y’all look like he scared to talk
“It’s not crazy good”.....👎

Just my opinion🤷🏻♂️I still like the song & the video! Just didn’t think it was one of the best songs I’ve ever heard lol.

@@TheRealTyHicks everyone has their own opinion but in my opinion it's definitely one of the best the story is deep

Who cares about the chorus? You shouldn't be allowed to review this song bro.
