I assume that the original name Khanpur ( Khan as in the surname, Shah Rukh Khan, Imran Khan, Ayyoub Khan) was distorted by the British who might have called it Khan's Pur. Hence there must have been a further distortion by the locals who changed it to Khanus pur. That's what my logic tells me.
