    Great video!

Thanks heaps for the info!! I only need 2 in 2 out, its the latency or lack thereof I really need, and this has helped me confirm the AIO, I have 3 tracks on a windows XP PC PC I need to finish before I can move to my new win 10 DAW, and that card will run in either , so thanks again for the confirmation ~ Cheers! ~Ht

I was searching for DSP 9632 info and came across this. Good video and yes, @ £650 the 56 was a budget interface. Mind you, not a bad one.

Hey Adam, firstly.. Thanks for the content you provide. Its always useful! Anyway, Whats your opinion on running either a A&H zed 420 or... Soundcraft lx7ii 24ch into a couple of synced behringer ada8200s converters via adat into an rme raydat 36i/o. I make hip-hop tunes so i use the ins and outs mainly at line level, not as much mic usage/rec as band recording. Thanks, G

Well... I finally learnt something today, good video! ADAT has always confused and you've made sense of that now! In theory could I use my old Edirol UA-1000 as an I/O for the RayDAT? Haven't fire is up in years but hope it could still serve that one function maybe? My main research leading to PCI initially came from MIDI issues but I'm loving the idea of trying RME, sounds like the way to go.

I’m presently inquiring about changing my big analog mixer for a more compact digital mixer. Most have AES XLR type connector outputs, how do you connect this with a RME card with AES/EBU ?

do you know what the data transfer rate is of the AES/EBU cable used on the RME RAYDAT?

Hey Adam, is there a way you share your computer specs and maybe result with a software like LatencyMon.

Hey there. Im now at the Point where my old Babyface is not enough. I want more ins and even lower latency. So well. I am interested in the Raydat.

Lol I just watched the whole video and I’ve owned a Raydat pcie for a year. I’m just on the floor rearranging some things and installing another m.2 drive. Wondered what speed slot the RME should go in and somehow this popped up and o watched the whole thing despite living the video everyday. RME PCIE ftw!

Way way way back you were the guy that convince me to go RME. We might have started at the same time. ;)

just add in your opinion is the AIO a better choice to the slightly older Digi face with pcie card?

dude! how do you get the sound out via ADAT to your monitors and/or headphone amps? sure I know ADAT for extending inputs but never had to think about the other way around which becomes necessary when only having the converters at PCIe :-) great videos by the way, love from germany

Anyone know the best place to find these cards in the States? ..The only places I have found are quite expensive... Which cards should I be looking at?

Hey Adam, I know this is an old subject but I was wondering if you could tell me how you are routing your speakers? My MOTU 828mk3 keeps crashing(rubbish windows driver support, last update was 2015) and I was thinking of buying the raydat. I would like to keep using my MOTU slaved via adat to the RME, can I still use the main outs on the MOTU if I route thru adat? Thanks man, if you could answer me this riddle as I can't find anything out there about this I would be well happy!

I'm digging your videos, man. I too am trying to get away from Firewire right now. My issue is that I'm running a decked out 5,1 cheesegrater Mac with 2x3.46Ghz 6 core processors with 64G of RAM, which is awesome for the video work I do. I would get the trashcan Mac, but Apple is supposed to be releasing something modular next year and I'd rather wait to see what direction they go. All in all, the computer I have is fine except for the fact that it doesn't have Thunderbolt. Apple had the technology, but they didn't include it because they wanted everyone to upgrade to the trashcan. Anyway, I digress. The new Apollos just barely came out, and I think they are smokin'. I've been considering the 1st Gen Apollos which are FireWire with a Thunderbolt 2 or 3 option card, so they're kind of future proof, but I wouldn't mind picking up one of the brand new ones that would last me years and years. I also have a Macbook pro that I use for remote stuff, and having an all in one interface is very useful for it. Anyway, what I'm getting at is that I want to upgrade my interface, the Apollos seem like great interfaces, from what I hear their converters are top notch, better than what would come in the ProTools HD systems that ran you $10,000. I'd probably just want to run ADAT from the Apollo to the RayDAT to achieve faster transfer speeds and that way I wouldn't have to go out and get a set of separate converters. What do you think? Do you have any suggestions on converters or a good setup for me?

I'm wondering what kind of latency you can achieve with effects on a track while recording. And how many plugins are possible while still having acceptable latency. I'm thinking of using stuff like Autotune and distortion. Thanks for the videos!

Do you use ADAT clocking or do you use an external clock to sync the outboard converters? It looks like the RayDat does not come with BNC word clock without buying an expansion board.
