This brought me to tears. I feel so bad for him. He did have a really tough life, including Itachi. They both carried a lot of weight on their shoulders throughout their lives.

In my opinion Sasuke's life was darker than Naruto since
1-Naruto has grown up without parents and that was really hard but he hadded iruku and ramen guy who took a little care of him when he was baby while Sasuke saw the death of his parents and all of the clan in his eyes!
3- the guy who was every thing to Sasuke ( his brother itachi) left him after killing all of his lovers. ( I know he did that to protect him but still consider hard to Sasuke)

I can kinda relate to sasuke sitution with his whole clan dying because when my dad died when i was three 2 or more people would die every year in family its almost like a curse

Greatest video on UA-cam in my opinion. Everything is just perfect about this. I cry everytime I watch it and I've been watching it numerous times since I found it about a year ago. This is a gift for humanity and Sasuke fans everywhere
I think what's most heartbreaking about sasuke is that he genuinely had so much love in him.
He grew up loving his family so deeply, and loved and admired his brother more than anyone else. He was so sweet and trusting and the only thing he really wanted was to spend time with his family. The only reason he worked so hard to become stronger was because he wanted approval from his father and he wanted to impress his brother. He was driven by love from the beginning. If he'd had a normal childhood, he likely would have grown to be a really kind and open person.
So, imagine taking a kid like him, one who is so full of love and light that it's what motivates him to work as hard as he can just so he can spend time with his family, and then ripping away everything he ever loved right in front of him. Forcing him to watch as you brutally murder everyone he cared about over and over and over again, until nothing is left inside of him but that gaping sense of loss and emptiness. And then you tell that person to fill that hole with hatred instead. To forget about love and companionship and to isolate himself in nothing but pure hate.
What happens when a person so defined by love is forced to reshape their life around pure hate?
You get a broken, fractured mess of a person. Someone who spends their life on a singular goal driven by that hate, and when they've accomplished it they are fully content to just lay down and die next to the object of that hate, because it doesn't matter anymore. It's over.
And then they find out that hate was misplaced.
And then the hole is filled again.
The hole is filled again with even more hatred than before. And it just makes everything worse.
Sasuke spends the entirety of his life trying to push away the deep sense love he feels. It's why he leaves the village and pushes himself into isolation. It's why he shuts off his emotions and puts up a mask of indifference. Its why he gets so upset when his closest friend just won't stop reaching out to him, making it harder and harder to deny the love he feels.
And even with his attempted isolation, he still can't stop himself from caring about/empathizing others. He gets angry at sakura when she makes fun of naruto for being an orphan. He later stays by her side until she wakes up when she faints during the bell test. He's the first to initiate the teamwork in the bell test even though he was told he would be expelled for doing so. He jumps in front of a bunch of fucking murder needles for a guy who, up to that point, had really only been antagonistic towards him. He builds a close, and dare I say, loving, relationship with team 7, despite telling himself all those years that he was driven by hatred.
I know itachi was mainly acting when he said it, but i think he was kinda right when he said sasuke didn't have enough hate.
Because no matter how hard he tries not to be, sasuke will always be defined by love.

Every time I watch this video, I look for your comment to read. I wish I could like it a thousand times more. It's the most perfect and unbiased explanation of Sasuke that one could hope to hear. Brings a tear to my eye every time I read this comment in its entirety.
Damn that's depressing.
I find it so shocking how many people still hate Sasuke and don't even bother trying to understand him. He was manipulated and lied to his whole life. After believing in one thing his whole life, he learns that it was all a lie. Of course he goes a lil crazy and has a mental breakdown (you can't tell me his mental evil laugh isn't a dead giveaway). That's when he tries to kill Kakashi, Sakura and Naruto, because he's so blinded by the pain and hatred. But we know he cares, or at least cared about them at one point.
His face when he asks Naruto why are they still after him and Naruto says "because you're my friend" absolutely kills me every time.
He's so surprised and confused, he can't believe anyone could still love him after who he became. He never had friends.
In that scene many people see a terrorist, an evil killer, but I see a broken boy unable to believe anyone would go to such lenghts for him, since he hasn't felt love in a long time, only pain, betrayal, hatred and manipulation.
People can see all of that with Itachi, Gaara and many more, but for some reason, Sasuke doesn't get that same treatment.
His mind was already broken after Itachi forced Sasuke to watch his parents and clan be murdered by Itachi, the older brother he idolized and lived above all else, for 72 hours (estimated to have been over 500,000/half a million times repeatedly) in his mind during a single second in real time while Sasuke was only 7 or 8 years old. Your explanation is spot on as well though and absolutely correct. People naturally just want to hate Sasuke because they hate themselves. Sasuke represents the realist of who we truly are while Naruto only represents the idealist we hope to be but never can reach the heights of because we're all dark when it becomes personal pain. They hate to admit they're like a character who was superior to the main character for a long time then became the main characters equal by the end. The perfect Shinobi only exists when Naruto and Sasuke are together. They are two halves of the perfect Shinobi and can only reach their true potential when together.
everyone is talking about Sasuke and Naruto having a rough time, what about Itachi in my opinion he had the worst life. He had to kill his family his girlfriend and his clan just to protect the hidden leaf village. He carried all this on his back never told anyone about it. He let his brother kill him so the others could see Sasuke as a hero. Ofc Naruto and Sasuke both had a hard time back then but still, in my opinion Itachi had a harder time.😔
I think in my opinion, Sasuke had it worst..I like Itachi but he chose to accomplishe the order. He could have think of of a solution like the third hokage tried to.. Sasuke didnt even had a choice. He had to go through the whole thing.. his whole clan, his parents being killed by his own brother.. it's terrible.. but yeah.. both sasuke and itachi did go through a lot of things..

@@lillakovacs4249 yeah i know Sasuke had a really terrible past but i still think itachi had it worse like he didn't have choice but to do what the third Hokage and danzo said and ofc he could've done nothing and let the 3rd Hokage handle it and i think that's what makes it worse itachi had to kill innocent people by himself at a young age. Like the whole clan was basically his family yk and he had too kill all of them. And on top of that Itachi also was sick. But in the end both of them had it pretty bad.

Im sorry but Itachi’s story is sad yeah but its not as big deal as what Sasuke been thru…just becos Itachi did what everyone perceived the right things doesnt mean he had way worse backstory than Sasuke Its just becos Sasuke decided to go on the wrong path after his traumas , ppl chose to overlook what he’d been suffered and did not try to put themselves in his shoes at all. On the other hand, Itachi was praised a lot already just dont make it sound like ppl don’t appreciate him enough coz its the opposite

Everything that happened between Sasuke and Itachi was because of Itachi manipulating it to be so. He regrets that more than anything. He knows the mental and emotional torture he forced his brother to endure. In trying to help him in his own way through these means, he hurt his brother more than anyone else could have. Selfishness created darkness in a lost and confused Sasuke that only love could heal. Sasuke's will and love for all made him try to become the enemy of the world just to protect everyone in it from going through what he went through. He needed understanding and that came in the form of a friend who treated him like the brother he needs. Itachi finally saw that when telling Sasuke that no matter what he chose to do, he would love him always. He finally understood his little brother but knew he was too late to give him more. He knew what Sasuke was going to do and the being he created in Sasuke was worse that what he brought himself to do to the Uchiha. Naruto was his last hope for the most important person in Itachi's life. Naruto's love, understanding, and acceptance is what made Sasuke finally stop and admit defeat. Neither lost physically but Sasuke finally saw what he was doing to those he tried to forget, to cast aside those who always wanted him back. He found his home at long last and realized that he had a family that's been needing him in their life and wouldn't move on without him
