  • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday signed a controversial measure, known as the “anti-riot bill,” into law, which is aimed at “combating public disorder.”
    The bill, which goes into effect immediately, requires that cities receive approval from the state before cutting their police budgets, and it raises the charge for protesters who destroy historical structures, including flags and memorials, to a felony.

There were 50k + people there for various Republican events and only a few hundred went to the capital; the majority of people in town had no knowledge of the plans to do that - and that included ANARCHISTS that don't want any form of government (part of the same group that attempted to kidnap that MI gov.). There were plenty of conservatives that wanted recounts, and last minute voting rules overturned that did not follow their own states' laws, or were such a dereliction of duty that it boggled the mind - name but no address, signature matches dropped from 70+ down to 40% likely match, mailing out ballots that weren't requested (which meant hundreds of thousands, if not more, were mailed to a home/apartment, etc. in a multitude of states that were now occupied by someone else (so huge voter fraud opportunity), harvesting ballots (people associated with political parties should not be allowed to collect ballots as there is nothing to stop them from setting aside ballots for a third party or conservative candidates, etc. Those are valid issues and ALL Americans should have pushed for confirming voting ballot authenticity to ensure full confidence in the outcome.

    This needs to be put on a federal level or applied by as many states as possible. Frankly, this bill is good and will help stop a lot of damage and hold people accountable properly. However, the way some have been acting and things they've done and went home, I'd honestly be fine with it being way more harsh. Peaceful protesting has a word titled peaceful in it. Anything involving rioting, looting, etc is treason, and domestic terrorism.

      It is diverse - there are people descending from probably at least 30 different countries. Diversity is not limited to one level of skin tone. They are of different ages, have different faiths, educational backgrounds, may have inter-racial marriages/families, come from different parts of the country, etc. Trying to limit diversity so narrowly is a disservice to everyone. I'm personally a descendant of people from 6 different countries and the Cherokee Nation but I don't define myself by any one of them. I am an American. Everyone standing behind that podium is an American and supporting American values and the Constitution.

      And what does that have to do with the murdering of unarmed black men?

    • @AB-ol5uz
      @AB-ol5uz 3 роки тому

      @@dickdesantis3110 what does rioting in a state where it didn't occur have to do with it? What does damaging public and private property have to do with it? The answer is NOTHING. The people/businesses that have been harmed in the riots are victims of a multitude of crimes and should have the ability to seek justice just like anyone else. And many of those men resisted arrest, were reaching for a weapon (their own or an officer's etc.) - being unarmed does not mean innocent - regardless of what color their skin is. Twice as many unarmed white men were killed in 2019, than black yet there are no protests for them. No protests when a non-white officer kills a black man either. None for native Americans or Asians either. And combined there were less than 100 "unarmed" deaths of all races out of 50 million public encounters that year. So, it doesn't suggest that cops are targeting black people as racists - they are responding to the scene of an alleged crime and react based on the behavior of the people once they arrive. And for many of them, it started with resisting arrest or reaching for a weapon. It would be great if this much energy was directed at celebrating the awesome contributions of black residents in these communities from the most humble to the most well known because those people are SERVING their communities and trying to make things better, instead of trying to make martyrs of often career criminals that actually make things more difficult for their communities - contribute to the high crime in the area, increase in drug use, persistent lack of diverse job opportunities, having a food desert, etc. let alone the physical abuse of women that some have perpetrated.

      You don’t see the damage. You are supporting the empowerment of a police state. They have simply exaggerated the facts to support their agenda of more money more power. Look around? According to this guy, you should be able to look out your window and see the flames. But if you listen, he keeps reiterating the need to empower the police. Create fear.
