If you flight with Garuda Indonesia, they do all immigration stuff on the plane, after you touch down all immigration matters have been completed and you will go through a special passenger line directly outside the airport. That's the power of Garuda Airways.
Great tip, thanks! STL
STL is currently my favorite travel show/channel. 🤠🤙
Was in Bali I'm July and August. Seemed a lot busier than Thailand. Nusa Penida and Gili Air had lots of travelers and a good atmosphere. Good times. Thanks STL!
Cheers Mikey :) STL
I was in Bali in 98 and spent every night in the sari club - it was the place to go! Terrible about the bombing.
STL ✈️ on the move - Thanks for showing some arrival scenes - looks like a bit of tourism coming back - like the motel - look forward to more 👌👍🙏🍻
Been a tough couple years here as elsewhere, great to see Bali getting busier again.
thanks for the great video, ive never been to Bali and i cant wait to see your videos on Bali. always great videos from you
FYI it’s a pretty nice walk from the airport into Legian if you’re travelling light.
So excited your in Bali, make sure you go to nusa lembongan and if you do look up our good friend blackie from island time for snorkelling with manta rays and a tour of penida ❤
So grateful UA-cam recommended this series to me. I had absolutely no interest in going to Indonesia...until now. 😂 The FOOD prices! WOW!!
Also, I learned German and never heard/saw Canuck being a 'bad word'.
And as we all know...(some) Germans leaving their towels on loungers all day (and not sit there for 1/2 of it ) really IS a thing! 😆🤣. My Austrian husband doesn't get it either...all German speakers are as varied as we Canadians are. And I've found there are great people everywhere!! 😍
Besides, you had me in this video at swim-up pool bar!🤩 Why sit on land BY a pool when you can sit IN a warm pool and be served drinks? Heaven!🥰 Plus, that's where the magical fun happens, longest we enjoyed was 7 hours in a Ko Phangan swim up pool bar. Haha...great times! ☺
Keep looking forward to your adventures so I can decided where to plan my next trip after I spend most of January in Thailand. Awesome, amazing and informative videos. Thank you!!!
thank you for your update. much enjoyed! have a good sleep. hotel looks great. until your next vid enjoy Bali🙏
Love your work STL. Looking forward to a Bali trip in December. Great to see it is lively.
Looks like a great place to see once. Glad your doing vids again
Many nicer and more chill areas in Bali upcoming, stay tuned! STL
I personally loved this video. Thanks!
Cheers!
Thank you for sharing STL ! Enjoy and please keep them Roooolllling . LOL
Wow, every bar has a live band....
I love those Baliesian large wooden carved out door. I find them very kewl to have before entering into a garden area of some sorts.
Lovely Jubbly !! Big Repect for jumping in
One thing that Bali must has is , A parking area for motorbike & Cars, in order to those vehicles are not parking in the side road.
like in pre covid times . Bali is always a good travel option! i remember the rock bar (22:57 min )very well , i liked this place back in 2012, too. This corner Kuta/Legian/Seminyak is a great place for long walks, on the beach, or on the party streets and and small alleys (Poppies Lane 1/2 etc) around. That's why i always choose to stay in the middle in Legian and then explore the surroundings. One of my favorite places back in the days was the La Plancha Bali beach bar in Seminyak , great place for the sunset and evening time.
Love Bali it’s my 2nd home I’m Aussie :) spewing just missed you I was there 2 weeks ago , enjoy 😊
Aussies very friendly bunch here :) STL
STL, Australians like Bali because it fairly close, feels like Asia, and is pretty inexpensive. Many football clubs go on end of season trips and play up! I‘ve been once and didn’t love it. I stayed in Ulawatu which was a close trip as the crow flies, but the single lane roads made it a pain to go anywhere. Thailand for me boss!
Actually I loved Ulawatu for the chill vibes yet still has many warungs, cafes, grocers, markets and the best beaches in Bali (imho). Even looked at places to live long term, some great deals too. Will show a bit more upcoming. STL
@@SideTripLife The beachfront villas are impressive in Ulawatu, for sure! Big lawn with pool overlooking the water. The steep descent down to the beach isn’t too much fun! Keep it up boss! 👍
Good vlog mate 🎉
I spent two nights in Legian when I arrived in Bali as well. Two nights was enough, moved to Sanur after that and still here for now.
Great choice. Sanur area is one of Bali's many nice chill areas. I'll be showing some more upcoming. STL
@@SideTripLife Yup! Been enjoying being here and using it as a jumping off point to ride around to various parts of the island for day trips.
Hello my friend 🙋🙋🇨🇭🇨🇭
Very nice video Big like 👍👍
100k tip....rock on!
Used to be a great place as an aussies long weekend, the north of the Island was quite, but the place has changed, not a place I would go anymore
Upcoming I'll be looking at some more chill areas too
Bali . Welcome. And we miss Thailand
Impressive 👌
Bali is wonderful, only problem is the traffic if you want to go around the island……Denpasar is where we stayed the few times we have been there……great video STL👍🏼😃
@MauiHowey Thx!
Again a great place, and not as expensive as I thought it to be, nice.
Bali really is fantastic value. STL
@@SideTripLife I thought it would be very expensive, I lived in Thailand for 6 years and it seems you could compare a lot, and some seems sheaper, what a surprise 👍😀
Mr Canada. Great channel. Loooove it. From Sweden 🇸🇪
TACK :)
ONCE AGAIN -- I watched protions TWICE, with a notebook! You're the best cannuck ;-)
LOL @ taxi rate discussion/articles. People who spend attention units debating with Taxi dirvers (e.g. 100,000 vs.120,000 or ~$1.30USD) are NOT people I want to be near during life on a tropical island... I have a word for a taxi that costs less than $10 to get you from your airport to your hotel on a tropical island: FREE
Bali looks interesting. BTW Nazareth is my favorite band.
Great band! Would have loved to have been at that Glasgow concert
Thanks for the video. I stayed in Jalan Legian, Kuta last month. You did well, not to get ripped off by the Airport Taxi Mafia and it was your first trip!
Thx Gary. For the record, I do get that many taxi drivers are also caught up in the 'game' (similar to many airports around SE Asia). Thus have to 'pay the man' for the right to queue and often times for hours, just to get a single fare. However, like most, I just landed and want to travel the 5kms or so to my hotel at a reasonable local rate, get a shower, grab a bite and begin my vacay. Some thoughts: 1) Eliminate the taxi 'handlers' and assc fees the drivers/thus you/I must pay (not likely to happen;) 2) There's prolly 10X more taxi's than needed around Bali, so buy out 50% of them, thus the rest have more fares/trips vs gouging the few fares they can net to survive (again, not likely to happen). 3) Build LRT as talked about (not holding breath but likely , at least eventually) . Until then, every flight landing at Bali (& Phuket etc etc) are leaving many with a less than desirable initial 1st impressions after dealing with the local taxi rank. STL
@@SideTripLife Your method of walking through the parking station to the road with cars going right is my SOP. I have always been able to find a metered taxi using this method.
If you don’t surf it isn’t a choice destination and if you do surf it’s a great base camp to further your journey and exploring other islands .
So nice to see you step in as I hate when people don't step in when a woman is being abused. My bags are packed and in 3 weeks I will finally be in Bali again, think it's about my 10th trip, would have been more but stupid covid has stopped me for a couple of years, last trip was booked for May 2020 but was cancelled due to the pandemic. I usually spend a couple of nights in legian, mainly for shopping but prefer to stay in Sanur and other areas of Bali for the majority of my stay.
Thanks. Just stepped in to deflect and hopefully de-escalate, many would've done the same. Love Sanur! Have a wonderful vacay :) STL
visited bali 6 months before the bombing . would love to go back . stayed in Sanur , but had a night out in Kuta and had a few beers in the Sari bar . Sanur definitely more your kind of place .
Love Sanur for sure! STL
Interesting. Never been to Bsli...
Too many bogan Aussies ( I am aussie)
I keep watching . I prefer Bkk chang Mai. Or anywhere in Vietnam 😀
OMG so busy, too busy. let's show us a different side of Bali please!
No worries. There's many quieter chill places in Bali. Will see some upcoming. STL
Very easy flights no issues from Melbourne
Welcome to Bali..Dude..its nice video and good gudget..what camera did u use..its..amazing pixel dude..?
Check out the legend bar on a sat night I think it’s a really good show , flame juggler
Missed you by one week. Maybe next time.
Cheers KCPIO
Another classy and informative video from STL! Trying to get to Da Nang or Quy Nhon and the beach before heading to Bangkok but bad weather not letting up for a week here. Can't wait to see more of Bali and the beaches. Keep them rolling in STL:) Thanks!
@Just the Facts Jack Thanks! Currently in Lombok, my new fav beach isle. More Lombok, Gili's and Bali ahead! STL
Go domestic terminal, get Trans Metro Dewata, (you can use Trans Jakarta card/e money, flazz) cost you 3.500rp. Stop at Central Parking Kuta, from that area grab taxi 15.000rp. Total not more than 20.000rp
Hiya STL, Another great video. Good vibes, always. Can not believe someone lit a cigarette. 🙃
Love the views on your flight. Quick time getting through, despite the queue.
Bless your taxi driver. You made his day. Nice room. Crazy cheap price.
Love the pool bar. It looks relaxing.
Haha, the towel reference. So true. In any country, you visit.
Top man. Stepping in to chill out the situation.
Cheerleader, your dry humor cracks me up.
Happy Sunday.
Cheers Nicky! Hope Buddy is free to walk you again soon! (for Buddy updates and well wishes, pls check Nicky's channel all:) #gobuddygo
@@SideTripLife Thank you. He is 1 year young on Tuesday. And that is the day we have the vets. I just hope we get the all-clear. He is so pissed off. And I can not take those puppy eyes. Mum wtf. Are we not going out. ☺🤪Happy Sunday
Go to Lomok Island too
On Lombok now, LOVE it!!!
It wasn't the one that you gave to me
That night down south between the trailers
Great raw lyrics from Joni Mitchel (& amazing rendition by Nazereth/McCafferty). For more 'insightful' Joni Mitchel lyrics (& Neil Young coincidentally) google: 'Circle Game: Joni Mitchell's Response to Neil Young' STL
Looking forward to a warm little beach shack getaway that I know you will find🤗🥰
On it! hold my beer... STL
I paid $40 Australian to get to the hotel lol I’m not good at bargaining to Kuta as well
I can always pick the Canadian odd pronunciation of little words like 'out'. Subtle, but different.
Nice one eh;) STL
Interesting video, hope you don't struggle to get a hundred thousand views as you did in Malaysia;)
YT already gave this one the kiss o death notice: 'fewer viewers are choosing to click on this video' etc. So it's not getting on the YT recommended / up next algorithm which provides 90%+ more views thus is pretty much DOA (sigh, ah well) STL
Please display prices in USD or CAD as well. Thanks.
Canuck here.
All prices are quoted in USD and usually EUR/GBP/AUD/SEK
You're right about that, a train from the airport is a saviour and I have experienced the convenience of them in many asian places. When you touch down your first fear is how much is it gonna cost to get to my hotel, and the cabbies, if your green, will F you for all they can get
Good grief STL great video but I'm in hell listening to that music 😂
Many many bars. Everywhere live music
STL As a Canadian , do you need visa to enter Indonesia? Any covid requirements ? Thanks
You can get a visa on arrival good for 30 days (digital option coming soon) $35 located before immigration counter. Airline asked to see my intnl vax certificate at departure (flew Bangkok-Bali). Indonesia only wants to see you've downloaded PeduliLindungi app and didn't bother opening it.
Thanks 🙏
Was it really worth haggling and walking all over for approx $1.25 USD for a taxi ride (Blue Bird 82.000 IDR + 100.000 IDR tip vs 200.000 IDR). I'd have taken the 200.000 IDR and given 20.000 IDR for tip knowing the fair includes most of the tip and been on my way.
Hi Ken, no biggee either way, Bluebird 82k/$5.30 OR Airport Taxi 200k/$13
(for approx 5km/3 mile trip). Just that I'm on a budget, also paying for my condo back in Bangkok, thus try to find the best value options when travelling (and yes, almost always tip).
For 1.25 it's bargains. Driver was very nice, I would give him 100% tip, that makes me feel good help out hard working local people. I'm cheap but not that cheap.
Predicted text sorry Sanur!
Any requirements regarding covid???
Do you need a return flight ticket to enter Bali?
Yes. Not sure if they check tho as I had a flight out booked already. But take a chance and may end up having to get an on the spot airfare.
@@SideTripLife Thanks, I plan on visiting Bali the next time I'm in that part of the world
Current Taxis at airport should looked at its a scam like Jakarta
Always go blue bird -
WTF why the hell are the prices not in USD or even Canada dollars?
All prices are displayed in my added text showing USD/EURO/GBP/AUD/SEK. As a Canuck I still don't show CAD as there's just fewer of us and little screen space to add another currency. AUD/CAD are usually fairly close with CAD slightly higher. STL
This place used to be so doddgy
Fly Air Asia at ur own risk!.My flights delayed twice & my luggage lost!
Sorry to hear that Wayne. I guess I'm fortunate as in a few years of using AirAsia literally dozens of times I've only had great experiences. STL
Looks like a nightmare place.
It got better, WAY better: ua-cam.com/video/-u2C0ZjfKOM/v-deo.html
Not a fan of Kuta at all and avoid it like the plague. Prefer the laid back scene in Sanur.
Same here. But felt I should show how the main areas are now as well. No worries, I will get to some amazing chill beaches soon! STL
The great tip you gave him is but one of the many ways Bali is changing into a greedy money loving party destination. Generosity has unintended consequences. The Balinese are turning into gougers just like the rest of SE Asia.
The biggest gougers are foreigners who run or own airbnbs, restaurants etc charging almost western prices especially in Canggu and spreading fast.
Can’t watch your vids any more not posting us prices
pls see @ 2:36 all prices reflect USD/EUR together as they were almost parity priced at that time
Do you have instagram account? I would like to follow you and talking to you sometimes. Im thinking to travel to thailand or indonesia to create a business....maybe! Thank you for all your videos.
