Love ❤️ this the train looks superb , it captures what the Scottish Highlands mean to people. You just want to go and hop on and do a Highland Rail Trip . Well done Scotrail .
Well I live in Glasgow, and have seen these vehicles doing training runs, and am looking forward to my first day trip on one. Maybe next week. Well done ScotRail, your initiative has to be applauded.
LOVE the new livery! A polite request to you though, please keep the windows clean on this service - it's a massive draw for tourists both domestic and international, so the view is important and both times I've reviewed the route for UA-cam, the windows have been really manky, to the extent I was tempted to get out at the Crianlarich stop and clean them myself. Great work though Scotrail!!!
I’d love this train! Would love to capture it for my channel but sadly I live in the south of England so not likely full be up that way a time soon. It looks fab though!
Might impressive finish and livery on the 153's, glad to see an operator make use of existing stock than go through the expense of much more costly new equipment.
I would like to ask ScotRail a question about the HST's on the Glasgow-Aberdeen run. I used this a couple of weeks ago and had to struggle to fit the bike into the tiny wardrobe style cabinet provided for two bikes, and I couldn't summon up the strength to lift the bike, rear wheel first, into the ceiling-mounted hook - as instructed by the staff - in the limited space. Now, when these HST trains were used on LNER and also GWR, both companies used the vans in the power cars for conveying bikes, I think five or six per train. Why are ScotRail not using these vans for bikes - especially as the racks may well still be there?
@@ScotRail I'm quite shocked to read this, I used these trains extensively with GWR and have not travelled with them since the newer trains with bike cupboards came along. I have been thinking of visiting Scotland with my bike but will not hurry now. The HSTs ease of use with a bike was a big part of the decision. I feel very let down by the train companies for excluding cycle tourists after all these years.
Any talk about adding better trains to the North Clyde Line? Maybe like 380’s or 385’s? I’m frequently getting the older class 319’ and 320’s. The class 334 is decent, a bit noisy though.
So a bit more modern version of the Jacobite Steam Train? (No this comment isn’t directing criticism towards the 156 (or 153 I’m not good with kinda modern trains I’m only good with some diesel/electric/steam locomotives)
Class 153 used to be with Great Western Railway 🚃 until March 2019 nearly 4 previous years ago. Now it’s 2023. Class 153s are coupled to class 156s. Limited amount of seats 💺💺💺💺💺💺 on 1 single car class 153s used for ScotRail in Scotland 🏴 because it conveys a bicycle 🚲 🚴 rack where rail passengers will have to find a seat 💺 in class 156 perhaps 🤔. I have been to Scotland 🏴 in April 1995 and September 2006. Scotland 🏴 is above 👆 England 🏴. ScotRail runs everyday and public holidays except Christmas 🎄 Day and New Year’s Day 🎊 🪅 🎉 🎏 🎆 🎇 💥 however it does run on Boxing 🥊 Day with perhaps 🤔 limited service on the 26th December per year. Class 153s are also used for Transport For Wales 🏴 in Wales 🏴 runs everyday is 7 days a week and bank holidays except Christmas 🤶 Day and Boxing 🥊 Day. Class 153s are surviving at present 💝 until around perhaps 🤔 the year 2035 otherwise gone or after that date. ScotRail is bidding for new trains 🚆 🚊 🚂 🚂 by around perhaps 🤔 the latest date Tuesday 31st December 2030 (New Year’s Eve) 🎆 💥 🎇 . It’s called ScotRail because it’s short for Scotland 🏴. If the franchise ScotRail changes its franchise, it could be called Transport For Scotland 🏴. Very complicated. The north of Scotland 🏴 is very quiet 🤫. There was a train 🚊 company called First ScotRail many years ago previously before 2023. All class 153s and 156s are standard accommodation only. Class 153s have a toilet 🚻 🚽 on ScotRail and Transport For Wales 🏴 where some don’t convey on Transport For Wales 🏴. All 2 car class 156s convey a lavatory 🚽. 🙂

There was Talk about it happening on the FNL and kyle.... but West Highland line was First to get them.
this is probably my favourite version of the scotrail livery

I don't live anywhere near Scotland but I want to go on this train
Good reason to come visit! ^Ste

Hi there, we're looking at the bike spaces on these trains.
@@ScotRail Thanks for your speedy reply. I hope "looking at it" leads to "action", and is not just words!

Great Trains
Brilliant Livery
This livery suits the 153👌
Saw him today in Dalmuir
September 18th to 25th it said I would be work on one
What company did the 153 operate for until they came to a such an amazing rail company?
Thanks ScotRail for a great day out with my bike, using the Highland Explorer. Video of the day here:- ua-cam.com/video/P85ZGVunJag/v-deo.html
Cool! Where can I see it?
The ScotRail website gives access to the timings.
Great idea!
Will these replace 156s? If so I will be upset 😂
They won't replace 156 services, they will run alongside them. ^Ste
Am going to oban
Seen this yesterday
Are you upgrading some of the Class 153s to accommodate some of the bikes. The brand and livery on this train looks really good.
Thats the whole point of them! The interior of the 153 is all bikeracks, but its coupled to a 156 for passenger seating

We've no plans to add these here at this time. ^Ste

Have you bought these 153s from GWR?
Where did yous get the 153s from?
Why are the 153s always have a 156 with them
To be PRM compliant
I have being told its testing
Class 135
Shame you cheaped out and never installed the mini buffet. Still a long way away from the comfort we had during the 80s.
