DIY Tamamgotchi Plus Color TMGC+C connect buddy

- Video of my Tamagotchi Plus Color connect buddy I'm working on.
This is a solderless version that anyone can build without soldering for around US $10
Note:
In this video I use a Arduino Pro Micro that required soldering of the pin headers. For the Solderless project an Arduino UNO R3 will be used that doesn't require soldering. See link below.
The marrying feature is not demonstrated in this video. But works perfectly and you can choose the next generation gender!
With this connect buddy your TMGC+C can get easy gotchi points, play the building contest with imaginary friends and marry and choose the new tamagotchi's gender.
Visit the DIY page at:
mrblinky.net/ta...
The following parts will be needed:
Arduino UNO + USB cable
Arduino UNO Case
Mini breadboard
10cm male to male dupont wires (12x)
Generic 38KHz IR receiver (TSOP4838)
Infrared LED
RGB LED (4 pin common cathode diffused)
1 KOhm resistor (4x)
6x6mm tactile pushbutton
4x self adhesive rubber feet
That's so awesome!! You work always hard for the Tama Community, I would say : Thank you for all these little things, which making Tamas better!
Thanks for all of your hard work on your gotchi endeavors. I'm excited by every update 😃
Thank you Sir. Your graciousness is a blessing.
You are great! Thanks for all!
Amazing work!!! Thank you so much for sharing
Hello, please give us a english patch for the plus color 🙏
You're incredible
Thank you man
Kind Sir, this is so awesome. I can play the game and capture coins. But, I could figure out the marrying part with my adult male character from my tama color. Is there a specific color pattern or click pattern I must learn? Thank you so much for making these options happen.
To marry your tamagotchi, press and hold the button until the led light starts to flash purple/cyan (light blue). When you release the button when the led is purple the next hatch will be a baby girl. when you release the button while the led is cyan your next hatch will be a baby boy.
Hey Mister Blinky, thank you for all of your awesome projects - you've done so much for all of us! I have a question that I'm PRAYING you'll answer! (Or if anyone else knows please chime in!):
I've been learning how to make IR transmitters for smartphones.. if I have one on my iPhone, can I use it to transmit somehow between a tamagotchi P without the use of a PC?
I recently had a horrifying death in my family: my beloved computer. My MacBookpro is all that's left and is so old now that I'm reluctant to even bother trying to fix it up.. since I have a iPhone 6s+ I've been able to do basically eventing I need without a computer - but with a new Tama P's on the way I want to make sure that I'm able to update it with new stuff as they come out
Hi, unfortunately those IR transmitters can't be used to send downloads over to P's. Besides needind both an IR transmitter and receiver. You would also need an app that handles the IrDA protocol stack.
Your best options would be to look out for:
1) an old nokia phone with IrDA and bluetooth then you can send downloads from your iPhone to the nokia over bluetooth and from the nokia to your Tamagotchi P's.
2) an old PDA with IrDA and bluetooth. You can transfer downloads over to the PDA using bluetooth or a memory card. you can store a collection of downloads on the PDA too.
3) A recent used Japanese smartphone with IrDA and bluetooth and NFC (NFC is handy for when you also get/have a Tamagotchi 4U/4U+)

Sorry I'm so late coming back here, I must have missed the notification of your reply!
I was able to get an Ir device from CutiePieKawaii pre-loaded with more than I've even been able to play with so far - so that's awesome!
BUT... my collection has grown considerably in this 1 months time and I'll be buying the NFC phone I your link - thanks so much! (I'd been looking at the 3D printed pierce bases on her site already so that'll be a convenient buy!)
since I'm an artist by profession I've been creating so many original accessories and a custom pierce for decoration is on my list)
Also, on that note, I've come up with an original, adorable, and incredibly effective new type of tama case had considered sending you one as sort of a thanks for sharing all of your genius innovations with us all :) No strings attached or whatever haha I'm just kinda proud of them and want to find deserving homes for them while not having to deal with selling them..
If you're open to it, do you have a PO box or something? It'd take a good minute as I want to custom make your fav tama or design or choice - but figured I'd ask anyway when I saw your reply just now :)
MstrBlinky Oh - and of COURSE thank you So much for your awesome & super helpful reply/info!
You're a tama saint, good sir! 😅
You're amazing
Yay! I have all the parts required already! Where might I be able to find the code?
I'll post a link when the code is fully ready.
Very interesting, can people use the Arduino to connect to other Tamas besides the TMGC+C?
Yes it can be used for other (older) tamagotchi's too. I could also read out TamaGo data as it basically uses the same format. I don't know about others yet. I don't own any of the older versions with infrared. I'll probably add more support later. But I'm focusing on the TMGC+C first.
Any way to put the code on an IR device, such as computer, PDA or mobile phone?
marydoob No, it would require low level access to the hardware.
MstrBlinky ok, thanks
cool
Do you have a USB dongle you can suggest off of amazon or something to connect computer to tamagotchi P’s?
Thank you!
You'd better be off looking for an old cell phone. Check out tama-zone.com/tamagotchi-id-compatible-cell-phones-t22536.html
MstrBlinky thanks for the reply. One more question with regards to the 4u this time. Do you know if the app works with the Samsung Galaxy note 4?
Hi this comment is about the tamagotchi 4U. I'd like to patch mine but does the app work with apple devices? Thanks
Unfortunately not. Only Android devices.
MstrBlinky thank you! What device is relatively cheap and works the best?
MstrBlinky all my family have apple devices so I was wondering if they worked with them xD! Will any android devise work?
No you need a Android device with at least Android 4.1.1 and Felica compatible NFC. Check the 4U App page for more info
