I love it! I have uke for about half a year and I don't play too much I play actually once or twice every 2-3 weeks and thanks to this tutorial I learned Spongebob - 12TH STREET RAG in about half an hour, now just gotta train so that it sounds just as in the tutorial
That's awesome! I'm glad you like it and learning it that quickly is impressive! Especially when considering you don't play that often. Good luck speeding up the Song, it gets more and more fun with speed :)
I recently came across this video and I really enjoyed it because the version I learned before needed a bigger uke, but I thought since I already learned it might as well go back and refresh my memory after I went back and checked the first video I learned it was you. Needless to say I subed instantly. Me and my adhd brain really appreciate the short/ straight to the point videos.
This made me laugh hahah. The older Tutorial for this song went viral on my channel, but the video itself was terrible so i remade it ( much better ofc ). Great you came back and thanks for subbing, this is now my video standard in terms of quality and length! Also i get that, i prefer to get straight to the point as well. And by the way the ukulele in both videos is the exact same, i just changed the Song to an easier to play Key so that every ukulele , no matter the size of the fretboard, can play the 12th street rag :)
As I am not a musician I don't know the correct terminology but this is the best way for me to understand and write it to replay. Pattern 'A' A3 - A2 - A0 Pattern 'B' Hold : E1/C2 Change : A3 - A2 - A0 Bridge E3/C4 - E1/C2 - A7/E5/C6 - A5/E5/C6 - A2/E1/C2 - A3/E3/C3 - A4/E4/C4 - A5/E5/C5 - A10/E7/C7 Song 'A'5 - 'B'8 (Break between) - 'A'8 (Break between) - 'B'3 (Break at end) - Bridge
Great to hear, this is exactly what I'm going for! Making ukulele accessable for everyone, no matter the skill level. And good job on writing out the notes 👍
@@BabyCEQ When it is the same as in A3/E3/C3 you can use a single finger. If it's like A10/E7/C7 you can do the same then using a second finger get the A10. Otherwise it's just practise.
I like this version a lot. This song will be the first song I’m going to start working on when I receive my banjo ukulele. Just wondering if I can use the introduction from the old version tutorial with the new version tutorial chord progression?
Im glad you like what you hear! I spend quite some time fine tuning my audio the last couple of months. So my Uke is a Lanikai Mahoganoy Tenor with a low g string. For recording i use a shure mic, i dont use/like the plugged in sound. And exactly, i put a bit of reverb on the audio in ableton
Do you have the written tabs for it? I'm having a hard time following its a little too fast. It's honestly a really good tutorial I'm just somehow getting confused
Yeah I understand if that's a bit too fast. I haven't written down the Tabs yet, but im thinking of doing the same tutorial but show the tabs instead of the animation. You either have to wait a little or try slowing the video down do 0.75x or 0.5x for the part that you're struggling with
I slowed down the playback speed of the video just one notch and that really helped - I think a ‘bouncing ball’ type thing over the strum part would be super helpful too 👍
Orange Circle = Play that note when it lights up ( put your finger on the shown fret ), Orange Line = play that string open when it lights up ( dont push down, just play the string)
@@uKoalele srry I am new to this. So just play all the strings like normal when you show one string in colour, which just means GET YO FINGER OFF THE NOTE?
No worries. Dont just play ALL the strings like normal when one string in colour BUT play THAT specific String only. If multiple light up then you play them together. If a String and a Circle light up at the same time you play them at the same time
Orange line = play the open string that's lighting up, without putting down a finger on a fret Orange swirl = play that exact note, put a finger on that fret and string
No worries i can explain it to you. You're right, in this song i dont touch the g string ( or at least i try to. When playing fast it sometimes happens but try to avod it as much as possible)
Yes it its, he learned it from me. I just made it a bit easier but if you want to play it exactly like the guy in the video put a capo on the 5th fret and play the same thing up there
its simple, everything lightin up orange is what im playing. Everything not lighting up orange is what im not playing. So the Circles are notes to put your fingers on the fretboard and the string is the open string ( you dont put a finger down on the fretboard, just play the string )
Habs mir grad angehört, da kamen alte Erinnerungen hoch :D Klingt auf jeden Fall machbar, ich werds mal auf meiner Ukulele ausprobieren wenn ich Zeit dafür habe :)

Might be a draft question but do you strum all the strings all the time when doing chords
No i dont, only the one ligthing up orange. for the most part i dont play the g string but the other 3
What uke is that? Sounds incredible- I assume its plugged in and has a touch of reverb added.

Why do some string light up, what does it mean? And thanks for the video!

Do you use G string?
I play whatever is lighting up orange, either the circle or the line. For this song I mostly avoid the g string
Are you making a video for the theme song for Steven Universe?
Maybe. I dont know yet
what does it mean, when the strings are orange?
Orange line = play the open string that's lighting up, without putting down a finger on a fret
Orange swirl = play that exact note, put a finger on that fret and string

What does orange line mean?
Play the open string
does orange on the line mean that you play it or you don’t?
Orange, doesn't matter if line or circle always means play it

regular A,E and C String but the G is a low G String
Why are some strings orange im so confused
