- On one side is the incredible city with its oriel houses, steep slopes, trams, monk seals on the beach, the famous Lombard Street and the Coit Tower overlooking the city.On the other side the very notorious prison island.How many other places on earth are there where the two of them are together? The island and prison building are right bottom the nose of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.Whenever I see this island from a bird's eye view,I carefully examine the steep ramp leading to the prison building...the lighthouse and the ruined building right next to it, the huge prison block,courtyards where the prisoners are taken out to exercise two hours a week!
Once upon a time, Spanish explorers nicknamed it "Pelican Island"(Arabic Al-Catraz) with high hopes.It's now called "The Rock" with a depressing and bloodcurdling nickname.There is a well-known mysterious escape story from Alcatraz Island,and a few films have been made about it. Whereas,It was said that from this island could never be escaped, due to strong currents around the island.Although, the prison building on the island is now closed I'm sure that's residents of city still strange feeling when they see the island from various parts of San Francisco...

The video beginning with footage of the coit tower.Although the city overlooks an inland sea, harsh ocean currents, suddenly cold weather, strong winds shake this city from time to time.
Just like the place in Caruso's magnificent lyrics:

In the evening, the lights of the nearby prison island appear.
Caruso's magnificent instrumental music accompany the sadness of prison island.

The strange prison building blocks the wonderful panoramic view of the city. Once upon a time, prisoners in very little isolated cells there shouted curses when they saw the skyline of the nearby city. In 1906, a violent earthquake devastated this beautiful city. Maybe it's because of these ominous words.
On a calm, good day, the magnificent Coit tower, steep hilly roads running parallel to each other, trams, houses with bay windows, monk seals, the magnificent gulf bridge and many other magnificent images flow calmly like a dream. All like a perfect illusion reflected from the surface of the water.

It would be an interesting experience to visit this island and tour the prison building. Literally a city of contrasts.

As you know this contrast has always attracted people's attention, and several films have been made about it. And as you know again there is also a story of the mysterious escape from Alcatraz prison. Whereas,It was said that from this island could never be escaped, thanks to the strong currents.
When I heard the sad extraordinary melody of one of the wonderful instrumental versions of Caruso, I began to think it was very suitable for this video.
When I listened to the melody, I heard a sound similar to a boat engine 3-4 times. I wanted to use it instead of the engine sound of the excursion boats passing far from the island.
Now, whenever I see this island from a bird's eye view, I carefully examine the steep ramp leading to the prison building, the lighthouse and the ruined building right next to it, the huge prison block, courtyards where the prisoners are taken out to exercise .
