Northeast Ohio weather forecast: Strong storm potential this evening

Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for May 22, 2024: Warm, humid, and breezy this evening. That will lead to the potential for some strong to severe storms to develop this evening into the early overnight. Some could have damaging winds and hail. Generally drying out after midnight behind a cold front.
That cold front will mean lower humidity and more comfortable conditions for both Thursday and Friday. Partly to mostly sunny with highs near 80 each day.
Attention then turns towards the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Shower/storm chances will be around, but no day looks like a total wash out. Temps will turn cooler behind the Sunday-Monday system with highs likely sticking in the upper 60s and low 70s Monday and Tuesday.
